Riptalon is a rare shard dropper, who pops up in places throughout Moria. He has been spotted at the following locations:

• Patrolling a small area southeast of the Orc-watch and the reputation vendor in the wild of the Redhorn Lodes. Near the drawing of a three pointed mountain on the map: ^{[14.2S, 104.4W]}.
• Patrolling a larger area southwest of the Dolven-view in the Great Delving ^{[8.3S, 114.0W]} - ^{[8.4S, 113.5W]}.
• Patrolling in the southwest of the Fanged Pit in Eastern Durin's Way ^{[4.3S, 102.3W]}.

Tactics

Riptalon is huge and pink, but don't panic: if you don't stay near him for too long he will not attack you. Just like his smaller brothers he digs a hole to do an earthquake attack once in a while. The induction to this can be interrupted.
