Woe of the Willow
"In the heart of the Old Forest, a fell sword calls forth evil spirits from the Barrow-downs. Only by destroying the sword can you stop the wood-trolls' blight from spreading and end the forest's misery..."

Background

In the heart of the Old Forest, a fell sword calls forth evil spirits from the Barrow-downs. Only by destroying the sword can you stop the wood-trolls' blight from spreading and end the forest's misery.

Objective 1

The wood-trolls are corrupting the forest.

You should defeat their leader, Gulmúk Dampmould.

Marigold Boffin says, "Everything looks so... twisted. Like the forest itself is angry."
Marigold Boffin says, "The sword can't be too far from here."
Gulmúk Dampmould shouts, "Pesky vermin... these woods are ours!"
Gulmúk Dampmould shouts, "You cannot stop the march of Angmar. Thadúr will see it done!"
Gulmúk Dampmould says, "Fall before us!"
Gulmúk Dampmould says, "Witness our might!"
Gulmúk Dampmould says, "Our corruption runs deep!"
Gulmúk Dampmould shouts, "But... Thadúr... promised...."

Objective

Though the wood-trolls have lost their leader, fell spirits continue to flock to the Old Forest.

You should destroy the sword that has been summoning the spirits.

Marigold Boffin says, "There's Old Man Willow. And... you see that? A sword!"
Marigold Boffin says, "I don't like the look of that sword one bit! And I don't think we ought to touch it, either!"
Marigold Boffin says, "But if we strike it with everything we've got, even iron has to break."
Tom Bombadil says, "Hey dol! Merry dol!"
Marigold Boffin shouts, "Isn't that --"
Tom Bombadil says, "Old grey Willow-man, mind you your mischief! Go now back to sleep, and don't be a-waking!"
Tom Bombadil says, "Ha! Ha! Thorn or sword -- Tom sees no difference!"
Marigold Boffin says, "Hm. I learn something new about my friend Tom every day!"
Marigold Boffin says, "Well, never mind. It's time we went home and gave the Bounders good news."
