Bestowal Dialogue
'There is but one way to solve the mystery of who these people are, and that is to speak with them. Let us approach with caution and greet them with kindness, and see what comes of it. Go on, I will be right behind you.'
Background
Following tracks in the sand has led you to a group of unknown people.
Objective 1
Faeron suggested talking to these people to learn more about them. You should talk to the guard at Gadim-ûn, a place in north-eastern An Shêru.
- Játsakori Guard: 'Who... who are you?'
- The man nervously grips his weapon, but does not threaten you with it. You tell him that you are travellers and are curious about them.
- 'There is no such thing as a traveller who just happens to be passing through here. But I think you should speak to our leader, Nabatínu. You will find him within.'
Objective 2
The guard has directed you to speak with his leader, Nabatínu, inside Gadim-ûn, a place in north-eastern An Shêru.
- Nabatínu: 'And who are you, strangers, who traverse this land without fear? You are no Ordâkhai, and this one is a Man of the West who makes no effort to hide his origin. If you are enemies of Ordâkh, know that you are among friends.
- 'If your heading is further west, then I must caution against it. Only death and danger lie in that direction.'
Objective 3
Nabatínu, who leads the people inside Gadim-ûn, a place in north-eastern An Shêru, has identified himself as an enemy of Ordâkh, and recommends against going any further west into An Shêru. You should talk to Faeron about what Nabatínu has said.
- Faeron: 'You surmise correctly that we are enemies of Ordâkh. We are capable warriors, however, and would travel west no matter the danger, should our business take us there. It was only a short time ago that we were in the cursed land of Mordor. I have my doubts that An Shêru has more danger to offer than the very lair of the Enemy.
- 'Tell me more of this danger to the west. I search for signs of an evil blight infecting the land, covering it in rot and sickness.'
Objective 4
Faeron has asked Nabatínu, leader of the people inside Gadim-ûn in north-eastern An Shêru, if he knows of any areas of blight in An Shêru. You should talk to Nabatínu to hear his answer.
- Nabatínu: 'Alas, no, there is not enough life remaining in An Shêru for such rot to take hold. No, the danger I speak of comes in the form of a new breed of Orc, with size and strength unlike any other I have known. They patrol the roads, killing any they come across, though they often take some prisoner. I shudder to think what becomes of those poor souls.
- 'There are also two strongholds of Ordâkhai of an unusual sort. They are zealots who do not believe Barkhûsh is truly defeated. They continue to worship him and believe that upon his return, he will reward their loyalty with power untold. They are fools, but are dangerous fools. They are led by a coven of Bokhóri, witches with the power to ensnare Men's will.
- 'In fact...'
- The man looks around at his fellows, dirty and hungry, living uncomfortably within a crypt.
- 'We were all once such thralls. Játsakori, we were called. Our wills were taken from us, and we were forced to work in mines for the Ordâkhai. I was able to break my mind free from their spell at the moment Barkhûsh was defeated, as the casters of the spell suffered a moment of weakness. I was able to escape, and since then, I have been helping as many people as I can break free from thralldom.
- 'Many have left to seek life and healing elsewhere, but those of us who remain do so intending to free the others. We have found the last of our number increasingly difficult to save. Their minds are bound tightly with the evil magic.'
Objective 5
Nabatínu has told you that he and the others here were once thralls of the Ordâkhai and have now found their freedom. They work to free the others still bound in thralldom. You should discuss the situation with Faeron.
- Faeron: Faeron turns to you, looking deeply concerned.
- 'I don't like this, <name>. These people need our help. Let's return to camp and speak with Rhadrog.'
- He turns back to face Nabatínu.
- 'We must return to two of our company, camped to the south. With your permission, I would like to bring them here, and together we will do what we can to help you. You aren't the only ones who have been forced into labour by evil. King Elessar did not leave the Nurnhoth or the Stout-axes to suffer, and I would not leave yours, if I can help it.'
- Nabatínu nods his consent.
- 'Good. <name>, I will meet you back at the camp.'
Objective 6
Faeron has offered to assist the Jatsakóri and will meet you back at the Rangers' camp south of Gadim-ûn. You should go to the Ranger camp and talk to Rhadrog.
- Rhadrog: 'Ah, you return. I was just talking to Faeron. It seems we came here looking for one foulness only to find another. I agree that something must be done. It's time to break camp.'
