Objective 1
You must defeat Azagath and stop him from awakening the creature Gârash.
- Lhothíril shouts, "Behold, my Lord Azagath, this is the prison of which I spoke."
- Azagath Sea-shadow shouts, A prison no longer. I will free Gârash, consume its power, and become Morgoth's will manifest."
- Lhothíril shouts, "Yes, my Lord Azagath, wet Natathal with your blood."
- Azagath Sea-shadow shouts, "There are others here. Others who followed me across the valley. You are too late, my offering is made."
- Lhothíril shouts, "I will carry Natathal to the sarcophagus...."
- Azagath Sea-shadow shouts, "Go, I will end their interference, now and forever."
- Azagath Sea-shadow says, "Come, let us finish this, once and for all."
- Azagath's Mettle says, "Fall to shadow!"
- Azagath's Malice says, "Right to the bone!"
- Azagath screams and clutches his chest, a wave of nausea fills the room. 'Enough! I will not be denied my prize!'

- Survive the impending attack
Azagath fled deeper into the inner sanctum. Your pursuit, cut short by fell magic, leaves you with a feeling of unease. Something is amiss. You must survive. The clamour of battle can be heard in corridors beyond.

Objective 3
- Stop Azagath from achieving his goal
The ambush is cleared and the door into the deepest part of the sanctum opens. You must proceed deeper, find Azagath and defeat him before he unleashes -- Gârash.
- Azagath Sea-shadow shouts, "You are too late, my offering is made."
- Glorfindel shouts, "I have not felt a chill like this since... the First Age."
- Glorfindel shouts, "This evil cannot be allowed to threaten Middle-earth."
Objective 4
- Defeat the Alad defending Gârash
- Do not let the Aladi approach Glorfindel or Gandalf
Azagath's ambition led to his demise before an ancient Morgothian horror. You must stand against this darkness and assist Glorfindel and Gandalf in containing Gârash, the Emptiness and its servants.
- Glorfindel shouts, Mithrandir and I can reseal this prison... but we must work together."
- Glorfindel shouts, "Call on me to empower the Elf-stone and I will purge the emptiness."
- Glorfindel shouts, "Let the Light inspire you in this dark place!"
- Thahar says, "Disease consumes you!"
- Sagush says, "Be consumed by shadow."
- Sagush says, "Be imprisoned in shadow!"
- Thahar says, "The ground festers with disease."
- Thahar says, "Your body decays from my gift."
- Thahar says, "The plague spreads!"
- Sagush says, "The void brings despair."

Objective 5
Gârash, the Emptiness begins to swell with power, feeding on the remains of Azagath. Assist Glorfindel and Gandalf in keeping Gârash from leaving the Temple of Utug-bûr.
- Gârash moves toward Azagath's corpse.
- Glorfindel shouts, "The Elf-stone is shattered! It cannot aid you more."
- Legolas enters the inner sanctum, collapsing and scattering Elf-stone shards to the ground
- Glorfindel shouts, "Legolas, stay back, your wounds..."
- Gandalf shouts, "Quickly, gather the shards. We can use them to slow Gârash."
- Legolas shouts, "The shards, Glorfindel, for Middle-earth."
- Gandalf shouts, "Look! Fragments of the void. Use the Elf-stones near them to halt their growth!"
- Gandalf shouts, "Call on me, friends! I will lend strength to drive back the Darkness."
- Gârash shreds <name>'s hope.
- Gârash weakens <name>'s will to fight.
- Gârash unleashes disease upon <name>.
- Gârash purges hope from <name>.
- Glorfindel shouts, "Do not falter, heroes! We shall drive the void back within its prison."
- Glorfindel shouts, "Back to the Shadow whence you came!"
