Bestowal Dialogue

'Most of us who came to the surface did so because we want to trade. Not many visitors have come to us, and there have been no trade caravans yet. Some of the bravest among us have left to make deals with the Temámir of the Shoreward Stone, but I am a jeweller, not a trader, and I am certainly no adventurer!

'I fear that I will be left behind without a trade partner, but I have an idea. I have heard that Khanâg Gur still does business, does it not? If someone were to go there and speak to their leader, perhaps they could sell my goods or take them to a market elsewhere?'

You warn her that the leader of Khanâg Gur is as likely to steal from her as he is to help her.

'I can afford the risk. I will start small, and if I am cheated, then I will stop trading with them. Would you speak to them on my behalf?'

Background

Tekâmi is worried that she will not be able to find a trade partner, while other dwarves are sending out trade emissaries.

Objective 1

Tekâmi has asked you to go to Khanâg Gur and speak with their leader on her behalf about the possibility of a business partnership.

Halshûm: '<name>, what brings you to me?'
You ask Halshûm if he has any interest in a trade agreement with a Temámir jeweller from Jiret-menêsh.
'Interesting... I myself am not, but I know many people and may still be able to help you. I would need you to do something for me first, of course.
'I sell supplies to the Ordâkhai at Kôth Rau. It is why they allow us to keep Khanâg Gur in business. Among those supplies are foodstuffs that resist spoilage - very useful for an army. I happen to find myself with more of these rations than the Ordâkhai wanted to buy, and I need to sell them. There is gold invested in them, and I need it back.
'Should you find yourself in Kôth Rau, and the rations they bought from me happened to go missing, they would need to replace their lost supplies. Do you follow me? If this thing happens, I will see to it that this jeweller of yours has a buyer.'

Objective 2

  • Help the Ordâkhai 'lose' their rations (0/6)
5 Ordâkhai Rations

You went to Khanâg Gur to ask Halshûm if he wanted to do business with Tekâmi. He did not, but he will find someone who does if you do something for him. He wants you to go to Kôth Rau and take back the rations that he recently sold to them, so that they will need to buy more. Kôth Rau is in southern An Shêru.

Ordâkhai rations 'lost' (6/6)

Objective 3

6 Ordâkhai Rations

You went to Khanâg Gur to ask Halshûm if he wanted to do business with Tekâmi. He did not, but he will find someone who does if you do something for him. You went to Kôth Rau and took back the ration crates he recently sold to them, so that they will need to buy more. You should return to Halshûm at Khanâg Gur in central An Shêru.

Halshûm: Upon seeing you return with the crates, Halshûm laughs.
'You did it! If you want to become a Khanda-khêl, let me know. I think you would fit in well.
'I do not want those rations, though. My men have finer tastes than Ordâkhai soldiers do, and I do not expect the dullards to buy them for a third time.'
He chuckles before waving his hand in the air dismissively.
'Do with them what you will. Just get them out of here.'
'Now, on with our business. In Zajâna there is a man named Zarzûmir. You will find him lingering in one of the marketplaces. He would give your jeweller a fair price, and he has caravans that pass through An Shêru, so he could pick up the goods.
'I do business with him myself. He pays me to ensure his caravans make it through An Shêru without being attacked by bandits. Which is very easy to do. I just order them to leave him alone.'
Halshûm laughs again at his own cleverness.
'Anyway, tell Zarzûmir Khanda-mashár sent you, and he will not refuse your offer.'

Objective 4

6 Ordâkhai Rations

After helping Halshûm, he gave you the name of a merchant in Zajâna, Zarzûmir, who will do business with Tekâmi. He did not want the Ordâkhai rations that you helped the soldiers of Kôth Rau 'lose' and said you can do whatever you want with them. You should give them to the Jatsakóri in north-eastern An Shêru, as they are always in need of supplies.

Nabatínu: '<name>, you return! But why?'
You present the Ordâkhai rations to the leader of the Jatsakóri and ask Nabatínu if he wants them.
'By the stars, yes! You know we would not turn away any unspoiled food. Thank you for remembering us. You are a treasure.'

Objective 5

After helping Halshûm, he gave you the name of a merchant in Zajâna, Zarzûmir, who will do business with Tekâmi. You first gave the Ordâkhai rations to the Jatsakóri at Gadim-ûn, and should now go to Zajâna in search of Zarzûmir, who is said to always be in one of the markets.

Zarzûmir: 'Saráz záro-dan, what can Zarzûmir do for you?'
You tell the man that you were sent by Khanda-mashár and that there is a Temámir jeweller in Jiret-menêsh who is looking for a partner to whom she can sell her creations.
'Jewellery? Made by a dwarf in the legendary Jiret-menêsh? Yes, I think I could sell those kinds of goods, no problem, and make a tidy sum at the same time.
'Not that it seems I have a choice, but you do not need to tell me twice to do something that brings in coin. I will assume Khanda-mashár will want a cut, but I will work that out with him. He will also tell me where to find Jiret-menêsh. There are few things he doesn't know. Thank you for bringing me this.'

Objective 6

You met with Zarzûmir in Zajâna, and he agreed to trade with Tekâmi. You should return to Jiret-menêsh and tell Tekâmi of your success.

Tekâmi: '<name>, you were gone so long, I thought you had forgotten me, but you went all the way to Zajâna on my behalf? I do not know that I am worthy of such effort, but thank you! I have many rings and pendants ready to trade, but I look forward to talking to this Zarzûmir about what is best for selling, and make more of that!
'This brings me so much joy, <name>! I cannot wait to get back to my workbench!'
