The Lone Dwarf
"I have given those two long enough. If they failed, that is on them. The time has come to deal with the Jangovar menace. The axes of dwarves shall be upon them!"
Background
You have secured an audience with the Jangovar leaders, but time runs short. Lord Náin's attack comes soon.
Objective 1
Tuhâl is nervously waiting to speak to the Jangovar leaders.
You should talk to Tuhâl.
- Tuhâl: 'Here we are, <name>. Let us not reveal ourselves now that we are so close to our goal! Just behave as a Jangovar would, and keep your head down.'
Objective 2
- Listen to the conversation
The Jangovar are conversing.
You should listen to the conversation.
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "Ah, our Chayasir recruits! I have been hearing good things about you two. How quickly you climb the ranks."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "If only the other Chayasír and Dorwinion were so willing, these lands would have already been conquered. A shame you were not born Jangovar, eh? Come, join us at our table."
- Jangovar Lord shouts, "The weapons from Hammerstead are well-made. The ambush on the convoy was a great boon, but we do not yet have enough arms or men to take Dale."
- Jangovar Lord shouts, "Hammerstead rebuffed our assault. They will be expecting us now. I do not think another ambush will be successful."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "We shall find a new source of weapons, then. A shame this backwater village does not have the resources we need to make our own."
- Jangovar Lord shouts, "I mean no offence, Akh, but we may be out of options. The dwarf-settlements are well-defended, and we cannot return to raid the Dale-lands with such small forces. Perhaps it is time to-"
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, 'Be silent, fool! We cannot return home, if the refugees are to be believed, so we must fight!"
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "The dwarves and Dale-folk will never accept us unless we conquer them! There will be no forgiveness for siding with the Dark Lord. We will always be seen as foreign monsters to them!"
- Jangovar Lord shouts, "We do not even know what occurred in Rhûn after we departed for war, Akh. All we have are a few rumours from the other clans! What say you, Chayasír? Are the rumours true?"
- Tuhâl shouts, "...Yes, they are."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "'Look at him, white as a sheet! There you have it. Our only choice is to conquer these lands, as we were ordered to. We must find a new source of weapons."
- Jangovar Lord shouts, "My scouts have reported that the Zhélruka Dwarves are passing through, heading west. The scouts noted that they appeared heavily armed."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "Oh ho, so it seems fate has delivered us a new source of weapons in our time of need! We will plan an ambush along their path and-"
- Jangovar Warrior shouts,' "Akh, a dwarf has come to the village! He says he must speak with you!"
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "A lone dwarf has come? Interesting. Show him inside."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "Brave of you to come here alone, dwarf. What do you want?"
- Náin the Slakeless shouts,' "I have come to negotiate the terms of surrender"
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "Oh ho, so the dwarves are finally giving up! I would meet with your leader-"
- Náin the Slakeless shouts,' "You misunderstand, Easterling."
- Náin the Slakeless shouts,' "I meant YOUR surrender."
- Akh-gulûkh shouts, "Wait, your face... Náin the Slakeless?! What do you mean to accomplish here? You are wholly outnumbered, fool!"

- Náin the Slakeless: 'Come; we have much to discuss.'
