Walkthrough & Notes
The battle starts at the top of the Carrock with two waves of Fierce Whelplings and Fierce Mountain-drakes. Once these are defeated, fight your way down the stairs against more of the same. Ormoth is at the bottom of the stairs, in the river ford. Varthmath appears in the ford just north of Ormoth, in front of the cave.

Bestowal Dialogue Defence at the Carrock "In the morning mist, shadows came to the Carrock. As they singed the horizon, my only thought was to protect the sacred rock with my life." Background The Carrock is under attack! Objective 1 Talk to Anórohir Talk to Anórohir. Anórohir: 'The drakes, they approach. I must take leave, for Lord Gwaihir has bade me not to interfere. I have faith in your skills, <class>. Farewell!' Objective 2 Protect the Carrock and defeat the attacking drakes Protect the Carrock and defeat the attacking drakes. Drakes are landing on top of the Carrock! Now to drive these drakes off the old stone steps of the Carrock! The leader of the drake assault has arrived! Objective 3 Defeat Ormoth, the drake assault leader Defeat Ormoth, the drake assault leader. Ormoth has fallen! Varthmath says, "Over here, <name>!" Objective 4 Find Varthmath Find Varthmath. Varthmath: 'There you are, <name>. Luck would have it that I decided to enter Beorn's cave [non Beornings: at the Carrock's base,] precisely before these drakes attacked. A group entered the cave, but I fought them off. It would seem they tried to desecrate [Beornings: our] [non Beornings: this] sacred cave and the Carrock!'
