Bestowal dialogue 'I have another task for you, if you are willing. A couple, most advanced in age as far a Men go, passed through my camp recently. The Maythorns are on their way down to meet their son, a Ranger living in Tornhad. The couple refused to turn back, and I was unable to offer them an escort. If you happen to be travelling that way, please look for them and give them what help you may. The roads south are dangerous, and the elders are not the sort who can protect themselves against the threats of the Angle.' Background An elderly couple uncovers ancient secrets and threats on the road to join their son. Objective 1 Find the elderly couple The road to Tornhad is in the western Angle. You should look for the elderly couple along the road to Tornhad. You have spotted a caravan! Objective 2 Talk to the elderly couple Waltney and Garan Maythorn are located near Eitheldir. Elladan has asked you to see how fares the elderly couple headed to Tornhad. Waltney Maythorn: 'Greetings fellow traveller! Oh, Elladan sent you, did he? Hmph. I knew he would not be able to let us alone. We do not need help! Well, that is, we did not need help until a few moments ago.' He sighs, wringing his hands. 'I am Waltney Maythorn the Second and this is the wife, Garan Maythorn. We are travelling south to meet our son, Waltney the Third, and his family in Tornhad. Trouble is, you see, there is something not of this world on the road ahead, or my horse is pink. Perhaps, if you happen to be going that way anyhow, you could see whether the road is clear? I would do it myself, of course, but my knee is not what it used to be.' Objective 3 Defeat Ost Waeren ravagers (0/10) Ost Waeren is near the road south of Eitheldir. Waltney Maythorn has asked you to investigate the ruins of Ost Waeren. Garan Maythorn: 'Elladan told us this place was called Ost Waeren. The stones of these ruins hold memories. Echoes of those who walked beneath now fallen arches, who slept within the crumbled walls, and who perished in the many battles this land has seen. I will be more than happy to be pressing on.' Objective 4 Return to the elderly couple Waltney and Garan Maythorn are located near Ost Waeren. You should let Waltney and Garan know that the ravagers have been defeated. Waltney Maythorn: 'You return! You have my thanks for your assistance, friend! We can press on to Tornhad now!'
