'I heard that you have some considerable skill in the carft of metalsmithing, <name>. I would ask something of you, if you would aid the Council of the North in their battle against Angmar.

'There are certain intricate symbols that we use to identify our warriors in the field in order to reduce the risk of enemies infiltrating our ranks. Unfortunately, these Crests of Vigilance are in short supply, and we have little time for their crafting given our pressing need to maintain weapons and armour.

'You can learn how they are made here in Gath Forthnír. If you can aid us in this simple task, the Council of the North will be indebted to you.'
