Description
Iphantemel (Sindarin for Old Mother), a spider of the spawn of Ungwetári, and the bane of King Thranduil, is found in Torech Emel in Eryn Lasgalen and the Dale-lands.
At her strongest she had her spawn overran the forest, wounded King Thranduil and forced the retreat of the Elves from Caras Tilion to Felegoth. With the fall of Mordor most of her spawn have retreated to Torech Emel as her powers ebb.
Summoned south, she is trapped in her lair and cannot leave, and most of her spawn have abandoned her to heed the summons of Ungwetári.
