A generic term for an item which can be acquired in bulk, and which is destroyed, or "consumed", for some buff, or other benefit. Examples include:

  • Potions, which restore morale/power, restore some other class-specific "fuel" (such as Wrath or Fervour), or which remove Debuffs
  • Liquid consumables (other than potions), such as Fine drinks, Beverages or Strong (Alcoholic) Drinks
  • Food which provides a buff and/or remove debuffs
  • Scholar's "lore" scrolls, such as "battle" or "warding" lore (see index), or "crafting" lore (see index), which provide a buff
  • Weapon-enhancing oils, of the "fire" or "light" variety (see index), usable by Hunters and Wardens.
  • Reputation items which add to one's reputation for a particular faction, when consumed

Consumables can come from a variety of sources, such as a vendor, trading, crafting, drops, quest rewards, barter, among others.

Single-use items which are destroyed on use, but which are not plentiful in game, such as a "map to" scroll, are generally not referred to as "consumables".
