Celepharn was the 4th King of Arthedain, ruling the Northern Kingdom from 1110 until his death in 1191 of the Third Age. He succeeded to the throne following the death of his father, and reigned for eighty-one years.
During Celepharn's reign, around the year 1150, increased numbers of Periannath (Hobbits crossed the Misty Mountains into Eriador and the lands of Arnor. Many of these were Stoors, who settled chiefly in Dunland and the Angle of Mitheithel.
Celepharn was a contemporary of Hyarmendacil I Ciryaher, under whose rule the realm of Gondor reached the height of its power at the time. Relations between the realms remained stable during this period, and Arthedain experienced no major external threats.
Celepharn died in 1191 and was succeeded by his son, Celebrindor.
