Level of Lore-master reporting: ( )
Azhorns are formidable hill-beasts found in Elderslade, often associated with the Orcs of Mount Gundabad. While naturally aggressive creatures, some have been broken and semi-tamed by the Orcs, trained for battle and outfitted with crude armor and bandoliers. These trained Azhorns were unleashed upon the Dwarves of the Gabil'akkâ during the War of Three Peaks.
The distinction between tamed and untamed Azhorns is striking: while the broken ones obey their handlers and follow Orcish orders, Untamed Azhorns remain wild and filled with uncontrollable rage, especially toward anyone attempting to imprison them. The debate among adventurers persists over which are more fearsome — disciplined warbeasts or enraged, free Azhorns.
Howlers' Notch, a former Warg den, has been converted by Hobgoblins into a training ground for Azhorns. The hillside is dotted with cages containing the beasts, making it a perilous area for travelers and adventurers alike. Azhorns are classified as Snowbeasts in both taxonomy and game mechanics, sharing traits with other large, aggressive mountain creatures.
Location
Azhorns are primarily found in Elderslade and around Howlers' Notch, where both tamed and untamed individuals can be encountered. The region was a central theater during the War of Three Peaks, and Orcish handlers continue to use these beasts for training and defense.

Background
Azhorns, like other Hill-Beasts and Snowbeasts, were created for The Lord of the Rings Online. Their origins in lore are unclear; it is uncertain whether they were native to Elderslade or imported specifically for the war effort.
