Description
Located in the goblin town of Grothum in the Ettenmoors, Alf Earthenway was captured by the goblins while taking a walk and forced to cook for them. He will request that you escort him out of the goblin town.
When you begin to escort him, he will pick one of 2 paths out -- to the left or to the right.
- If you go to the left, you will run through a few small encampments and might end up fighting a signature orc soldier that is there.
- If he chooses going to the right, you will run a shorter path to the exit but will face an elite ~50th level troll at the end.
- Note: Whereas Alf cannot be attacked by creeps while standing there, once the escort quest is begun, he can be attacked by creeps so be cautious about your starting of this quest. It isn't too difficult for a creep to watch you escort him until you have your hands full with a pack of goblins or the elite at the end when they then can run in to interfere with your quest.

Quotes
At the start of the rescue and as you go through it, he chats a bit:
- Dear me, which way to travel. I am unsure what will happen at either path.
- We shall travel to the right. I hope there are no trolls, I have seen them about.
- We shall need to be careful through here.
- I shall endeavor to stay close to you, else I be captured again.
At the end of the escort through the goblin village:
- I know my way from here. You have been a great help.
- I think I'll finish my walk before returning to Hoarhallow.
- I have one last request of you before I go, friend.
- Would you speak to Marigold Winterdown in Hoarhallow and tell her I shall soon return to work?
- I cook for her at Hoarhallow. She'll be worried, but tell her I will be along soon!
