Deyvid
I'd like to recommend Deyvid for ninja status. He's done a good job around here for quite some time now, and I think he deserves it. --Fedaykin 18:08, 11 February 2008 (PST)
Chat Meeting
Hello Xander,
this is a reminder that there is a Chat Meeting scheduled for next Saturday (August 16th) at the usual time. You can find out more in the Contributor's Corner, as well as the Announcement on the Forums. I'm hoping that this time we will see a larger attendance so that we can discuss some of the topics on everyone's mind and work out our plans for MoM. --Fedaykin 17:22, 8 August 2008 (PDT)
IRC?
I'm online working on some stuff right now. What irc server and channel did you want to meet at? (I replied on User_Talk:Hinney page but figured this way you'll get the 'new message' now.
- I meant a general contributors meeting on IRC, not just two of us =) I'll suggest it in the contributors corner in a few minutes ;) --Xander 15:03, 3 January 2008 (PST)
- Sure thing. I'll check there.

About Image formats
Being as I was playing with images a bit (uploading maps and the like), I 'stumbled' over an ancient discussion you had here -- Image_talk:Silver_coin-icon.png.
When I did my 'oops' recreation of the Worth template, I also uploaded 3 gif versions of those coins with transparent backgrounds and, if you like, I can convert any png's to gif's pretty easy. I just personally hate manipulating graphics... (I spent too much time in the ancient days, making 3 and 4 versions of buttons for active, inactive, mouseover, click event stuff... WAYYYYYYYY too much *snicker*)
Just let me know if you want a hand with that stuff and what images you'd like converted. Also, I was 'standardizing' on png because I saw mass png files out here so I figured that was what you were using... I can upload only gifs if that'd be better.

Hop on IRC -- a couple/3-4 of us pop on here now. freenode -- #lotro-wiki channel. --Eleazaros 23:24, 8 January 2008 (PST)
Quick explain on how the tooltips work
Tooltip.js is just a pre-loader. core.js does most of the 'common' work. itemtooltip.js, questtooltip.js, etc... each handles parsing for the specific tags that they use.
In effect, the code grabs a rendered version of the page (much/most of the formatting stripped out), creates a work area called "tdf" (tdf2 for comparison stuff) in <document>, then assembles the tooltip.
The assembly is pretty simple. It parses through the HTML, via regular expressions, looking for the class="..." tags to extract the portions of information and format that it wants to use.
Now, when calling the proceedures, that is handled in the wiki templates by their class="..." usage, which is captured by the OnLoadHook part of the code. So if the wiki templates do not have the proper classes in use, the tooltips won't be activated to show.
That's it in a nutshell.
I figured you seemed very interested in what it was doing and how so I figured drop you a quick overview on it.

Kinship Template
Created the beginnings of a template for kinships using the Player Character template as a base. The template is currently called Qkin.
Would be delighted if you felt it was good enough to use as a base for a better one. Dunno if I will have time to completely finish it .. eg the a decent explanation at the bottom ala the Player Character template.
NB: ty, Xander, for helping me with my PC pages

Gif request
I know we agreed on no gifs but I have a very special use for an animated gif type object.
The "ping" marker for the coordinates... I tried like 3 different designs -- it must be VERY small -- but it also needs to catch someones eye when it's displayed.
This is why I was thinking a small animated gif. a simple spinning wheel type widget that would catch someones eye -- 16x16 size -- 4 panes perhaps... Something small and simple that says "look at me!" when it's displayed on that little 300x200 map image.
If you have an idea on this, or a different format that would work, just replace the one I have up there with a new image that the coordinates will use. The image is -- the only reference to it that would need to be adjusted would be in the User:Eleazaros/coords.js code where it does the:
- tooltip = tooltip + '<img src="https://lotro-wiki.com/images/0/09/Coord_mark.png" alt=""></div></div></div>';
so all it would take is adjusting the filename/path to a new image or replacing the one I have in use if you can find on that grabs the eye easily across any of the maps the game uses...
Thanks and sorry for dumping this one on you... --Eleazaros 23:54, 20 January 2008 (PST)
Uploaded Images
I saw that you were categorizing the images so I figured I'd remove [[Category:Icons]] from most of the ones I'd uploaded and just put them in the sub-categories. That way if I upload any new images, I can upload them into the category Icons then go there to figure out what sub-category they belong to and just remove the [[Category:Icons]] from them -- recategorize them as it were.
--Eleazaros 13:36, 16 February 2008 (PST)
Link Image category
Category:Link_Icons
I created this category for images that are set as #REDIRECT to a page for the item. This way, the graphic can be used and if it's clicked, it will take the person to the item page.
Reason: Some of the new corruptions with book 12 cannot be gotten via DP. Instead you must trade for them (rank 2 corruptions) so... I put in <quantity> <icon> and if someone clicks the icon, it will take them to the item page from the price column versus taking them to the image page.
Because it is a redirect, the pointer at the top of the page can be used to get back to the icon (redirected from). If you can see any problems with this, please feel free to speak up.

table colors
Thanks for the heads up -- I'd noticed it but hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet. It's the caption and was taking the "default table text color". I set it to dark teal now. (default is moccasin -- NOT a good color for white backgrounds... hehe).
--Eleazaros 00:13, 18 February 2008 (PST)
corruption tables idea
Good idea on the quantity listing. I hadn't thought of that. Table widths -- yeah, probably. I've been tweaking them up and around a bit. Some were set at 450px, others at 900px when I started working with them. I've been trying to get them to 750px or smaller but there are a LOT of tables in that area. I'll see about the trade stuff first.
First thing I'm going to do today is go through and flesh out all the missing skills and what not for the Monster Players so all the "information" is there. Once that's done, I'll go though them class-by-class and see about standardizing them a bit more.
I also think we need some more sub-categorizes in the icons area... LOTS of stuff to do! hehe
--Eleazaros 13:35, 18 February 2008 (PST)
- I know about icons, but I'll leave subcategorisation to image project group, which I'll join myself, there were a lot of images that would e deleted after a warning, and some need to be marked that they are used via direct link... --Xander 14:39, 18 February 2008 (PST)
Rogue's mainpage
I saw you added an image to my mainpage and wanted to say thanks and coolness! If you wouldn't mind coming up with the rest of them I only had a broad idea of what I wanted. What you used for crafting turned out very nice. Are there other icons similar that would fit? Quest ring for one, Monster quest eye for another etc?? If you don't want to take on the task I understand, just point me in the right direction! Rogue 14:20, 17 March 2008 (PDT)
i'm preparing for the mw 1.12 upgrade
I've re-enabled the news addon, can't believe i missed that, I even did a search for it. Well that is one addon that will prevent us from upgrading to mw 1.12. As for the other page, i upgraded the parser extension for bug/security fixes, but i will look into it and see if i can fix that page. --Lotroadmin 10:26, 13 April 2008 (PDT)
- Hmm, what exactly is no longer working? --Lotroadmin 10:40, 13 April 2008 (PDT)
- I've changed the ParserFunctions to key off of the mw1.11 branch and it seems to work.. Let me know if there are any other issues. --Lotroadmin 16:51, 13 April 2008 (PDT)
Template:Infobox Item
Hey Xander, I'm hoping you can shed some light on this subject for me. I would really like to start making item pages for the crafting area but I haven't a clue whether or not I should be using the old one or the dev one or just wait til the dev one is ready for use! The anticipation is killing me not to mention the fact I cant create pages! Could you give me some insight? Thanks! Rogue 17:02, 16 May 2008 (PDT)
- Update: Is there a reason why the description was left out?
- Nevermind, this issue was resolved. --Fedaykin 06:48, 22 May 2008 (PDT)
- Update: Is there a reason why the description was left out?
You may also want to check out Rift-defender's Armour... why is it floating on the left side instead of the right, like your Armour of the North Star is? Do I need to have all set items created beforehand? --Fedaykin 22:08, 17 May 2008 (PDT)
- Thanks, it's fixed for the Rift-defender's Armour now. I've run into a new issue though, which probably has to do with the ' as you mentioned? Check out Item:Rift-defender's Gloves and any other set piece - you'll notice that the Rift-defender's Armour link links to the actual item being viewed. I've tried setpage= but that didn't seem to work. Changing the disambigpage= on the item to the item name as well seemed to fix the set link... but then of course the item was messed up floating left again. Any idea on what can be done to fix this?
- Oh, and the reason I changed your tooltip "Usage" was because it didn't want to work for the items I was adding when using {{item||}} to create the tooltip. It basically ends up linking to Item:Shadow-Eater if an item is being linked on that page. Should I use lootbox instead? --Fedaykin 09:33, 18 May 2008 (PDT)
- Ok will do, I'll use loot then :) --Fedaykin 09:22, 19 May 2008 (PDT)
Chat Meeting
Hello Xander,
just a reminder that there is a Chat Meeting scheduled tomorrow at the usual time. Please try to be there, as we will be discussing the closing of the Logo Contest, the implementation of the new Main Page, and more. --Fedaykin 09:43, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
I updated Template:Area Navigation Box based on your feedback and your Angmar example. I left the colour and background options in the template but don't plan to use them. See my updated example for Ered Luin on User:Glynnis/World. Feel free to update the template (or my example) if you want. --Glynnis 15:58, 28 May 2008 (PDT)
tooltip Template
I found out there is not a options for description can you add this in. Thank you--Speico 02:14, 5 June 2008 (PDT)
- You mean for the new Item infobox? The input field for the "description" of the item is called "flavor" there, and I agree that it's a bit misleading/hard to find. Would probably be better to modify it so it accepts description as a replacement for flavor as well, so you can use either. I can look into doing that real quick... --Fedaykin 05:59, 5 June 2008 (PDT)
- I'd rather you didn't do it ;) as can be seen on the broken template now... --Xander 06:49, 5 June 2008 (PDT)
- Edit - didn't notice Xander's response before posting. Either way, allowing for description to be used instead would be nice, so we don't see every future item editor asking the same question :) --Fedaykin 06:01, 5 June 2008 (PDT)
- Hey, sorry about that. I figured such a small change wouldn't mess it up and it would work no problem, but it looks like I was too quick about it. I had to leave right after I made the change so I didn't have time to check if it was working effectively either. My apologies, I'll test out stuff like that on my sandbox from now on... --Fedaykin 16:36, 5 June 2008 (PDT)
- Thanks for your help and I know what it is :) any way these template can be stuff up if you do not check :) lol --Speico 01:38, 6 June 2008 (PDT)
