Creating a player character page

Hi, I noticed you had some problems creating your character page.

It is very easy to do (once you've done it a time or two).

In the menu bar on the left, expand "Popular pages", and click on "Player Characters".

This gives you a form where you enter your player character name. Click the button to create the page, and start editing it.

Basically, you fill in the blanks. Click "Show Preview" or go to the editor preview tab to see what your page will look like. Click "Save Page" to save it. Don't worry about the image just yet.

Now you will see an image link, in red. Click on that red link, to get to the file upload page. Click the "Browse" button to locate an image file on your computer. (Remember that your screenshots get saved to your "My Documents\The Lord of the Rings Online" folder.) It will probably get uploaded to the lotro-wiki server with the a different name than on your computer, but with the name the wiki expects. Click the "Upload file" button. There will be a link back to your player character page. Click that to see how that page looks with the new image.

To change the image, just click on it to get to the file page, and use the "Upload a new version of this file" link to replace the image. Because of timing issues on the wiki server, you may need to press the reload page button in your browser to see the new image.

If you still have problems, click the "Add Topic" link at the top of this page. Someone will notice, and try to help you out. RingTailCat (talk) 09:31, 6 February 2012 (EST)
