My roleplaying background goes back about 25 years, beginning with tabletop D&D. I was in 4th or 5th grade at the time. I've continued playing RPGs all this time, on and off. I've DM'd a home D&D campaign for most of this period, always in the Greyhawk setting. I've played, judged, and authored modules for the Living Greyhawk campaign in the RPGA. If you're curious, I co-authored the core module "Folly".
But, of course, I was a Tolkien fan for all these years. I bought MERP modules but never played, and even tried my hand at the collectible card game in Middle Earth that Iron Crown put out. That was before the much more successful Decipher card game. When Decipher put out an RPG for Lord of the Rings, I was one of the first judges to demonstrate and teach the game. We still have a small, yet active community of writers and players for Decipher's Lord of the Rings tabletop game. I still playtest new adventures for it, with a few members of my LoTRO kinship, even!
I began playing massively multiplayer online RPGs when Ultima Online was in Beta testing. I loved this game utterly and it controlled my life . . . until I quit in disgust after around 6 months. I watched with excitement as Middle Earth Online began development many years ago. It eventually became the LoTRO we know today - so here I am to finally experience it. In the meantime, I managed to play Everquest2 for about 5 years. I loved it and it absorbed me, though I've backed down from my responsibilities there to take up the reins of leading a Kinship here.
I'm a regular contributor to the eq2 wiki at eq2i.com. I'm still learning the code, but I enjoy the challenge. I have the same username there as here.
Curiously, I am going to try to play LoTRO without spoilers. I'm here to contribute things that I don't consider spoilers - like crafting info, server and Kinship info, and basic game knowledge. Let's see if I can hold true to my quest . . .
