The (modifiable) Forester's Axe

A breakdown of the modifiable forester's axe, and how to upgrade it.

The axe

Highlights:

• (at least some varieties are) Bind To Account, meaning you only TRULY need to make one.
• various cosmetic appearances, which have no effect on bonuses
• Provides additional reduction of skill use time, like other tools
• Higher levels provide + crit chance, unlike normally crafted tools (tool sets)
• Higher levels provide additional chance for rare drops, again unlike normally crafted tool sets

The process

All modifications are single-use, apprentice level, processing recipes.

1) You start buy buying the basic modifiable axe.
2) You buy a cosmetic recipe, and a cosmetic appearance.
3) You proceed up the chain, buying progressively fancier (and more expensive) recipes, and buying luck stones to upgrade the tool with.

The currency

The currencies for the Combe Forester Event are ribbons, which are account shared (by server), and freely exchangeable between denominations.

• 1  Winner Ribbon = 10  Runner-up Ribbon = 100  Participation Ribbon

Currency caps are:

• 10  Winner Ribbon
• 50  Runner-up Ribbon
• 500  Participation Ribbon

Upgrading

This table uses the Dwarf cosmetic appearance as a starting place, but if you replace "Dwarf" with Elf, Hobbit, Wsternesse, Primative, Ornate, Gold, or Mithril throughout the table, it will be equivalent.

Notes

The total above are in "participation ribbon equivalents". Due to currency caps (and *actual* purchase prices), you will need to keep all three ribbon types.

The Luck-stones can be acquired from Umbar weekly crafting quests at cap, reducing the number of event ribbons you would need to acquire.
