Tarondor Andovarda
King Tarondor Andovarda was the 27th King of Gondor, ruling from 1636 to 1798 of the Third Age. He was the longest-ruling king of Gondor; coming to the throne during the years of the Great Plague, which wiped out much of the population.
Gondor at this time was drained of its resources and man-power and could no longer afford to tend to the forts guarding the ancient entrances to Mordor, thus they were abandoned, paving the way for evil things to return. During his reign the garrisons and outposts in Enedwaith were also abandoned; and it was he who moved the King's House from Osgiliath to Minas Anor (later to be named Minas Tirith).
Tarondor ruled Gondor for 162 years, and was succeeded by his son, Telumehtar Umbardacil. He was honored with a statue and plaque on the Pier of Minas Tirith.
