A Pleasant Path through MT

Being a chatty bloggy walkthrough for Minas Tirith, to make your Class Trait points less annoying to get. Well, unless you don't like chatty bloggy walkthroughs.. then I can't help you. :D Also, not suitable for completionists.

After completing the Ashes and Stars timeline, advance "Intro to Old Anorien" and pick up the Epic quest. When you get the epic quest, you are ported from the Culverts in Osgiliath to Pellenor Fields and there is a brief introduction there (OMG Faramir's alive). Once you enter Minas Tirith, pick up "The Integrity of the Rammas" quest (right next to the dailies), and talk to Mithrandir who tells you to get the passwords for each level of the city. This means a long walk all the way up to the citadel. So you may as well take your time.

Speak to Rossaran just outside the Stables, he has a very quick quest for you at this point.

Hurin, warden of the keys, has the "Opportunists" quest which is fairly simple.

Don't rush off... start clicking on placards as you head all the way north and all the way south on the first tier. When you're all the way north, at the Stone Theater, having clicked every placard on the way, pick up the Cloudyheads quest and work on it until they decide to move to the fifth circle, "Setting the Stage". Continue clicking placards and getting passwords until you reach tier 5 and continue the Cloudyheads timeline.

You might also begin the Bergil / Cisterns timeline. However, the cisterns are accessible from the southernmost point of tier 1 even without the Bergil quests. If you don't have task items then you can stop here and stock up. The lizards also work for Beast slayer. However, before you get too stuck in, you might want to wait until you get up to level 4, Player's tier, because Rathon has the intro quests for the Cisterns.

Note that the Epic quests that take place in Minas Tirith don't count toward the quest count. The quests involving Forlong and his buddies in the Merry Swan tavern are renouned for being full of long rides from place to place, but you don't need to finish them to just complete the quest deed. There is a separate deed, Tales of Minas Tirith, that tracks progress through the Bergil, Forlong and Cloudyheads timelines. They're full of interesting history. Can you ignore Forlong totally, and still complete the quests deeds? I wonder. A couple of years ago the answer would've been no.

Remember to click every stable master as you go.

On Craftsmen's tier, some of the fellow halls have masters to meet, such as the Clothier's Fellow Hall, which you enter to meet the Master Clothier. By the stable is a simple quest to count grain in the Middle stores. Farther north, is the Smith's quest to pick up scrap metal. Since you'll be out there in the Pellenor fields a lot anyway, may as well pick that up.

On the Player's Tier (4th, the one where the Cisterns daily takes place), Rathon has some preliminary quests (like Sabotage in the Cisterns) and there's a noblewoman with a missing bracelet, and Millen has a missing child. I usually do all of these.

By the time you finish clicking all the plaques on level 5, you will be Known to MT, even without accelerators.

if you've been careful and found all the plaques, the final plaques are in the citadel level, and after all that you can take a flying leap off the citadel to get your "Flighty" title. :)

now all that remains of the deeds, is the two captains outside the city, and the farms. But there's some questing yet to do around here. You'll meet the two captains no matter what when you unlock the dailies. So work on the Epic quest and MT quests for now. There, you're done wih the most annoying bit. Well, except the trolls. There comes a point where you have Friend to the Defenders of Minas Tirith reputation, but not yet Kindred. This means you can do the dailies for the Builders and Smith's Fellowships, but not the Burgsmen's. It also seems to be the time when you've completed Quests in MT deed, but not Quests in Pellenor deed. The design at this point seems to be to offer the choice of either doing more quests in MT (to get Kindred) or start doing the two fellowship dailies to get Kindred. I chose the dailies since I know them well, but they can get a bit same-y. But I know it's getting me closer to unlocking more levels on my Legendary Item, so I go this route. The fellowship's quests (are solo btw) also include a lot of quests of pellenor (for the deed which helps get you a class trait point) and this is a good time to do the Jal Varsha quests as well.
