| Info: | 18th ruling Steward of Gondor. Cousin of Ecthelion I Minastur |
Egalmoth served as the 18th ruling Steward of Gondor, his rule lasting from 2698 until his death in 2743.
He succeeded his cousin Ecthelion I Minastur in T.A. 2698. Egalmoth was the great-grandson of Belecthor I through his daughter's line, and his tenure saw a renewal of warfare with the Orcs.
In T.A. 2710 King Déor of Rohan appealed for aid in expelling the Dunlendings from the occupied Isengard, but Egalmoth was unable to assist.
He was succeeded by his son Beren Ithrondil in T.A. 2743. The Minas Tirith garden Egalmoth's Green is named for him, and it is there that his statue can be found.
