Description & Charter

"United we Stand" is the kinship motto. With that in mind we have set out to build this kinship. The following are key aspects:

1. We are all equal.

All established "members" of the kinship will hold officer rank. If you are thinking of joining our kinship and are not a friend of an existing member of our kinship then you will need to pass a trial period. This is to ensure that you and the kinship are a good fit.

We believe that all members are equal and therefore there should be no secrets (like an officers chat).

With this comes a bit of responsibility as well though Being an officer and member of this kinship means that you will have a job to do (more on that later).

2. Leaders

Even though in §1 we stated that all are equal, there will be 3 kinship officers that are the official leaders. In case something needs to be decided upon, which the whole kinship membership cannot decided (due to equal votes, etc.) then these 3 will be the last instance for the decision. This instance should be the last resort and only needed when all other discussions have come to a stalemate.

3. Recruitment (OPEN)

This kinship is about friends and friendship. Doing things together and generally having alot of fun together (as the motto suggests). The people we invite, are people we know and have played with for a while. The key element of recruitment is not what characters or abilities they can bring into the kin, but what kind of person and attitude would be joining us. The person has to fit into the community we build and maintain.

Due to the stated above the following is the way we handle recruitment:

  • Applicants need to be over the age of 25 years
  • Applicants have to be able to communicate via TeamSpeak 3
  • Applicants need to post an Application via the forums .

Once these steps have been taken by the applicant, we will get in contact and conduct a TeamSpeak 3 interview. After a positive Interview there will be a kinship invite.

Once invited a 2 Month Trail period begins. At the end of the trail period there will be a kinship meeting and discussion (with all members). Trail period may be extended (once) another month, if kinship meeting decides. At the lastest, 3 months, a final decision by the kinship is made.

If trail periode is passed the applicant is promoted to member. After another 4 months and without apeal or motion against, the member will be promoted to officer of the kinship and inherrits all rights of a normal kinship member.

4. Size of kinship

This kinship does not have the wish to grow in the normal sense that most kinship have. Regards to §3 we take our time inviting new people.
A group and the dynamics of a group are also limited by it´s size. When does a group become a crowd? When do people feel left out because the others are playing together?
These are things we take into consideration. Due to this recruitment and maximum size of the kinship are (for the time being) set to 16.

5. Empowerment of members

As stated in §1 everyone will be officer. This also means that everyone will need to pitch in and help. This is due to the size of this kin and the wish that we all help each other (remember the kinship motto?). The things people can or are willing to do are different. Not everyone is good at crafting. Some are better at talking than others We take this into consideration and speak to the members to find the best solution and job for everyone.
A list of jobs and who will do what is yet to be created / finalised. Of course all members will have their say.

6. Communication

Our main communication is direct and verbal using the TeamSpeak server. We don´t want long winded typing text in Forums (they are mainly used to document information so people that were not there can read up). So using and speaking on TeamSpeak is very much a needed part of being in this community.

Officers

All full members are officers.
