Kinship Charter:
Kinship Goals:
We are striving to be a stable kinship who has been Beta testing Lord of the Rings Online since Febuary 2006 and World of Warcraft before that. We have been through merges and alliances on other Online games which have left us with less members with which we started, but we persevere onwards, determined to achieve what is before us. We maintain a friendly environment which accepts all members despite their age and ability.
We seek to achieve a high standard of PvE, raiding, and member involvement, but most IMPORTANT it's about having pure fun and enjoyment of any online game and being with friends we can trust.
Conduct:
The Officers of The Shoal do not wish to impose on our guildies a lengthy list of intrusive rules, we simply want to ensure the game stays fun for everyone involved. We expect members to be friendly and helpful; willing to help guildies despite their level.
All guild members are expected to conduct themselves in public in a manner that reflects positively on The Shoal's image. As a member of The Shoal, the actions you take reflect on all members, as well as on yourself. So please, conduct yourself in a manner which reflects positively on the kinship.
All kinship members are requested to treat each other with respect. Excessive profanity, both written and spoken is discouraged. Gratuitous profanity or disrespect may be grounds for dismissal. If you are asked to stop using extensive profanity or discontinue annoying behavior you are expected to do so immediately. A profanity filter is built into Lord of the Rings and available for your use, if you wish not to hear profanity, please make use of this.
Also we request you respect others by not spamming excessively in the kin chat, or any chat on the Meneldor server. You are permitted to advertise yourself as a working farmer, forester etc, however please, respect that excessive spamming is unwanted, and may lead to ruining others’ play.
Harassing, degrading, or abusing fellow members will not be tolerated. If you feel you are being treated as such, send a Tell to the member who is behaving so and, if the behavior continues, contact an officer. Sometimes the officers are busy with many things and will miss a lot of what is going on in guild chat. It’s up to you to make sure the officers know there’s a problem if it escalates to that point. Our website, strives to be the main hub of guild-related information for all members. The site has forums established for its kinship members to use and enjoy and all members are of course encouraged to do so. However, all kinship members are also required to follow basic common courtesy rules when posting on the site. Please refrain from excessive foul language, posting or use of pornographic imagery (including avatars/signatures), and trashing others. A general rule of thumb is if your mother would disapprove of your post then perhaps you should reconsider it.
Taking items not meant for your class, or "ninja’ing", is frowned upon by the LOTR community as a whole and specifically by the kinship. This includes any group members are involved in, be it guild-only or PUG and at any group level. Please just remember, you wouldn’t like it if someone ninja’d an item from you, so please be nice and don’t do it to others.
Kinship Bank:
You can request and donate to the kinship banks. We accept all donations; mats and money (used for buying mats for members, repairs for raids etc). Items given to you from the bank should be used, and not sold on the auction house. Rare or expensive items will only be given to those who have donated to the bank and earned points or are Officer rank or higher. Donations to the kinship bank will reward you with ponits you can use to purchase other items in bank you can use and can lead to in-guild promotions.

Purple Item donations double the credit points.
Blue Item donations triple the credit points and increase your status in guild.
There are no reward points for white items donations, but you can still request the free items listed on bank web site.
There will be a limit on the amount of donations you can earn points on and what the bank can hold.
We currently have one bank; Dassel. Dassel holds cloth, money, recipes, mining mats, herbs, and othe crafting trade items including some Weapons and Armor. For any quieries about the kinship bank, please contact Ramothin either in game or through mail.
Attendance:
We are a casual kinship concerning raid attendance. However, if you sign up, you are expected to attend. You are not required to attend all raids, but if you sign up and fail to attend penalties could incur. Please do not make your guildies wait for you unnecessarily. Points may be rewarded for your attendance as well.
If you are going away on a long vacation or for an extended period of time, please tell us. An officer must be told if you are expected to be absent for more than three weeks.
Thank you for your time reading our guild charter.
