Introduction
Legion of the Silent River is a Mixed Kinship.
We are a friendly Level 10 kinship, well over five years old, accepting of all levels, races, player status's (vip and non), and player types (grind focused, role players, casual etc)!
Our roster includes about 200 players as of 3/30/2015.
We do a mix of everything, for middle of the road players or for those who want to join a kin where they can make new friends and get free stuff. We have purchased a Kinhouse in the Shire Homesteads, and will be holding a number of festivals and events now and in the future, including sparring contests for prizes, plays, concerts, and raids. Occasional high end items will be dropped in our chests for the first person who wants to take them!
Kinship History
Formerly known as "Soldiers of Christ". Name changed about four years ago at behest of LOTRO. Founder unknown. Would like to find out, so if you know who founded the kin, send Findurian a tell!
The Kinship History as best as we can determine, as well as what we have done, is below.
The History of the Legion of the Silent River
The Legion is an ancient and dynamic kinship with a great deal of history. A lot of it is incomplete, so bear with me as I continuously update as I find out more
Circa 2010 Legion Founded by Theprincesszelda/Dornigal. Dornigal and Theprincesszelda either became romantically involved around this time or were romantically involved when they founded the kin.
Circa December 2010/January 2011 Findurian Shadowstalker, then Findurian, joins the Legion of the Silent River. Meets Dornigal and Theprincesszelda. Begins questing through Ered Luin, Shire, and Bree.
June 2011 Findurian wounded near to the death. Loses will to live in Middle Earth and passes over the Sea. Remains a member of the Legion, but does not return for two years.
July 2011-July 2013 Schism and strife from within the kin. Kinship is shattered. Members flee. Dornigal and Theprincesszelda break their bonds of love. Theprincesszelda disappears without a trace. Dornigal becomes a recluse.
August 2013 Findurian hears the call to return to Middle Earth. Returns to find his kinship abandoned. Only Dornigal and alts remain, but not active. He begins to search for members and/or news of the dissolution of the kin. His goal is to return command to another player, but none surface.
September 1, 2013 Findurian gives up the attempt to find past kinmembers. He assumes command of the Legion and begins to recruit. Celthaliel and Nurdoriel join him as the first members of a reborn Legion of the Silent River. Glaweth is recruited.
September 21, 2013 Istarnel joins the Legion.
September 26, 2013 Landronas joins the Legion.
Circa October 2013 Vertigoe, then known as Kerosene, joins the Legion of the Silent River. Around this time, Findurian opens the position of Successor and a vote is taken. After Celthaliel is elected (then retires), Vertigoe is appointed.
October 12, 2013 Marquerious joins the Legion.
November 5, 2013 Areldis joins the Legion.
November 10, 2013 Cairas joins the Legion.
January 3, 2014 Dainfar joins the Legion.
January 11, 2014 Celthaliel recruits Minastur into the Legion.
January 29, 2014 Johncoltrane joins the Legion.
February 4, 2014 Faramirbe joins the Legion.
February 24, 2014 Totantoma joins the Legion.
April 18, 2014 Dainfar, Totantoma, Faramirbe promoted.
May 16, 2014 Eolbor, Dobbyman, Turiniel promoted.
June 20, 2014 Johncoltrane, Nurdoriel, and Guindaliwen promoted.
July 19, 2014 Cypha, Stealwolf, Bhuirglireachta, Bornte, Hanurhil, and Himdam promoted.
September 8, 2014 Dagoriel, Ichalthir, Taurra, Kelroie, Dunwulfhelm, Denurien, Frinara, Himarthdui, Lendwen, Darvrenil promoted.
November 7, 2014 Lianea, Garlod, Magdalanor, Istaranel promoted.
November 11, 2014 Kinship officers meet. Kinship officers express concern over a loss of direction and a feeling of pointlessness to the title of officer. Officers push for new system of established duties. Kinship officer system revised. Kelroie, Turiniel, Mariihuil, Johncoltrane, Guindaliwen, Himarthdui, Lendwen, Bhuirglireachta, Cypha, Westvirginafroger, Faramirbe, Taurra, Pyi, Bornte, Totantoma, Dagoriel, Dobbyman, Himdam, Stealwolf, Glaweth, Dainfar, Magdalanor, Hanurhil, Landronas, Frinara, Eolbor, Ichalthir, Nurdoriel, Lianea, Marquerious, Garlod, Istaranel, and Denurien demoted. A large amount of old players disappear from the kinship. Many form a new kinship, The Oncoming Storm. Faramirbe disappears briefly.
Early December 2014 Faramirbe returns.
