History
To understand the origin of the Legacy, we must travel back in time to the early Third Era. Darkness crept across middle earth as the dark lord's power grew ever greater. The free races combined forces to fight this evil. The tales of kings and elves are told to this day in every corner of civilization, but where would those kings be without their loyal subjects, the true heroes in this tale?
People left their homes and families to fight for their freedom. Young and old took up arms to protect all that they hold dear. Hundreds of thousands of elves, dwarves and men stood strong, bound in their belief that they would succeed, they had to succeed, or all would be lost.
Are there no tales of these brave souls? The pipe weed farmer with pitchfork in hand, in disregard of his own life, storming to the front to save a fallen brother, is he not a hero? Is he not remembered?
What if the Dark Lord himself is forgotten, the ring a mere legend, known by few. What happened to the tales of these common men who stood up for what they believed in and prevailed?
The Legacy was created by the king of Gondor shortly after the war, in remembrance of those people. Every great hero in the battle for Middle Earth was awarded a Legacy Seal, which would forever more mark his deeds.
Over the years, these Seals were passed down from father to son and their families were respected by their community. But years became centuries and centuries turned into millennia. Seals were lost or destroyed, families were wiped out by disease or war and the Legacy faded into oblivion.
But now the Dark Lord has returned and the descendants of those great warriors, who still carry the Seal, are taking up arms again to fight the inevitable war. Where most people are oblivious to the danger still and carry on with their everyday lives, the members of the Legacy stand ready once again, grimly determined to uphold their family honor.
Beware o Dark Lord, for the Legacy comes and it brings certain doom for all those who oppose their just cause.
