Introduction
A Group of Friends was created as a place for its members to hang out without feeling pressured to do certain things or behave in a certain way. It aims to function as closely as possible to how a group of friends would in real life. It has no leader, with kinship management handled by a committee instead.
Their website lists things that make them unique:
- We play our own way, at our own pace, with no pressure to join group events or raids.
- We don't have a leader - instead a committee shares the responsibility of keeping things running.
- We treat each other as real friends would: we have fun, respect boundaries, accept our differences, avoid drama and ensure that everyone feels included.
- Everyone is welcome to chip in and contribute to the kinship.
Kinship History
A Group of Friends was founded when three friends left a kinship they felt had become unwelcoming after its founder passed away. They chose a name that perfectly captured their identity: simply, a group of friends.
Though they never set out to recruit, word quickly spread, and old friends from their former kinship began to join. Wanting to recapture the joy and camaraderie they once knew, the friends created a charter designed to ensure that their kinship would remain welcoming, supportive and stress-free, even in the event of a leadership change.
Recruitment
A Group of Friends is open to players from all time zones who share its commitment to a friendly, welcoming community. There are no requirements in regards to experience, character level or prior accomplishments.
