Effects

 Smouldering Wrath is applied to the enemy target while channeling this skill. The channel duration is increased by 0.5 seconds for every Battle Attunement the Rune-keeper has when using the skill.

• The set bonus  Seething Truth in the Cleansing Flame trait tree increases the damage of this skill by 30%, and makes this skill have a chance to restore Power to the Rune-keeper, with the chance increasing according to Battle Attunement.
• Specializing in the Cleansing Flame trait tree makes this skill have a 20% chance to apply the Searing Words DoT.
• The set bonus  Extreme Heat in the Cleansing Flame trait tree makes Searing Words deal more damage when inflicted on enemies suffering from Writ of Fire.
• The trait  Tale of Rage in the Cleansing Flame trait tree makes this skill apply or tier up Tale of Rage on the Rune-keeper, up to 5 stacks. Further ranks improve the potency of this effect.

Tactical Information

Smouldering Wrath is a Fire Rune-keeper's strongest direct damage skills, and should be used as often as possible. Make sure that whenever the skill becomes available, you are at max attunement to deal the highest amount of damage. This skill will often become available alongside Essay of Fire. A good rule of thumb is to use Essay of Fire directly before Smouldering Wrath if and only if Empowering Flame is active on the Rune-keeper.
