Rabûg

Rabûg is one of the three dragons said to be the children of Akhízi. The drake is remembered in the songs of Shagâna as one of the monsters slain by the hero Shurug-nîn.

Rabûg fought beside its siblings Anûshu and Nuzéru near the lake of Idagâl in the First Age. During that battle Shurug-nîn and the Elven warrior Maethriel wielded the sword Orotheg and brought down the three dragons. Their bodies fell into the lake and remained hidden beneath the waters for thousands of years. When the waters drained, their remains were revealed at Ushumût, where the bones of the dragons still lie.
