Walkthrough & Notes
Rolanthir [67.8S, 5.9W] is to the south of Faramir's Lookout, across the river. Morgul Darkwaters and Rotting Darkwaters can be found at Rolanthir and along the riverbanks near the bridge. Three water collection sites are visible from the bridge, two west and one east. There are others much further upstream to the east. Try to avoid prolonged contact with the water.

Quest Text

Bestowal Dialogue 'The foul things that lurk in the Morgul Vale are creeping into Ithilien. At night I can see a strange glow coming from the ruins just across the Morgulduin River. My eyes do not play tricks on me, for others have witnessed the ghastly lights too. I am concerned about whatever is causing this sorcery. Will you look into it for me?' Background Arodor has asked you to investigate strange lights coming from ruins on the other side of the Morgulduin River. Objective 1 Investigate the ruins of Rolanthir Rolanthir can be found just south of Faramir's Lookout in Southern Ithilien. You should investigate Rolanthir. Arodor has seen strange and ghastly lights coming from these ruins. It appears that foul spirits bound to the Morgulduin congregate in the ruins Objective 2 Defeat Darkwaters along the Morgulduin River (0/6) Collect water samples from the Morgulduin (0/4) Rolanthir can be found just south of Faramir's Lookout in Southern Ithilien. You should defeat Darkwaters and collect samples of water from the Morgulduin River. Defeated Darkwater (6/6) Collected water sample (4/4) Objective 3 Return the water sample to Arodor Faramir's Lookout is located southeast of Osgiliath. You should speak with Arodor at Faramir's Lookout. Arodor: 'What's this? Water from the Morgulduin? It looks foul and defiled, perhaps from the army and beasts stationed in Minas Morgul. The spirits of these waters must have been corrupted and their will bent to serve the Dark Lord. What might happen if a man or an Orc were immersed in these waters? I shall not think such thoughts.'
