Bestowal Dialogue The Great Alliance of Elves and Men stood in defiance of Sauron for long years of siege, but even their bravest heroes came to fear his deadliest servants. These were the Nazgûl, and their number was Nine. They stalked the battlefield of Mordor Besieged, and were its most dangerous scourges. None can say what ship bore him hither to Middle-earth before Númenor was lost, but once he accepted Sauron's gift he could no longer be counted among the Men of that land. He dwelt in Thaurband, a fortress in southern Mordor, not far from the inland Sea. It was from that keep that the fear of him spread, giving him a new title to replace the name he no longer needed. He became the Gloom of Núrn, though he did not stay there, and roved far and wide at Sauron's command. The Gloom of Nurn says, "There is no escape for you, <name>." The Gloom of Nurn says, "Your sight fails you, <name>!" The Gloom of Nurn says, "You are blind to your fellows' plight!" The Gloom of Nurn says, "The might of my Master shall smother you all!" The Gloom of Nurn has been defeated... for now Objective 2 The Gloom of Núrn, defeated but enduring None can say what ship bore him hither to Middle-earth before Númenor was lost, but once he accepted Sauron's gift he could no longer be counted among the Men of that land. The Gloom of Núrn suffered defeat on the battlefield of Mordor Besieged, but it was not to be a lasting death... not while Sauron endured. The Nazgûl would return, for his was an existence beyond ending.
