Sagroth, Lair of Vermin
"Years under the corruptive influence of the Iron Crown have poisoned the land, leading to rumours of monstrosities lurking within Carn Dûm's sewers. A sorcerer named Gárvadach pursued these rumours for his own ambitious purposes. Little did he know, a group of Trév Duvárdain has tracked him down, determined to put an end to his twisted aspirations...."

Background

Many dangerous creatures have called the sewers of Carn Dûm home. Some have remained rumours, nothing more. Others, however, may be of interest to the scattered remnants of the Iron Crown.

Objective 1

  • Pick up the summoning horn and call Lágsaith to your side

Lágsaith has begun her tale.

You should pick up the summoning horn to call her to your side.

Objective 2

With the heavy Angmarim presence in the sewers, Gárvadach cannot be far.

NOTE: You can use the 'Call Lágsaith' skill to call Lágsaith to your side.

'We'd prepared for everything Gárvadach might throw at us, but we had not accounted for the smell.'
'It was ghastly! I even pitied the Angmarims' poor hounds.'
Gárvadach shouts, "This is unexpected."
Gárvadach shouts, "Where are my soldiers? Did they fail to contain you?"
Gárvadach shouts, "If so, they deserved whatever end you gave them."
Gárvadach shouts, "I'll dispose of you myself and resume my search."
Gárvadach says, "The local fauna is fascinating, is it not?"
Gárvadach says, "The dead come forth. Won't you join them?"
Gárvadach shouts, "I- I do not have time for this!"
'Would you believe it? The absolute cowardice!'

Objective 3

  • Explore the sewers and confront Gárvadach (again)

A heavily injured Gárvadach has fled deeper into the sewers.

NOTE: You can use the 'Call Lágsaith' skill to call Lágsaith to your side.

'But there was no turning back -- not when that would give the snivelling worm more time to plan and act.'
Gárvadach shouts, "I was right! The simpletons who questioned me will rue this day!"
'We could scarcely believe our eyes! What madness had led this beast here?'
'A mixture of awe and terror settled in our stomachs, as we slowly realized that we, too, would have to face it....'
'...I jest, I jest! The children enjoy the flourishes I add to the story, but I cannot trick seasoned adventurers.'
'In truth...'
Gárvadach shouts, "Submit to my will, you brute! Under my control, you will become the perfect pawn."
Gárvadach shouts, "Urgh..."
Gárvadach defeated
'So ends the sorry tale of Gárvadach the Coward, but *our* tale is far from done....'

Objective 4

Gárvadach has met his demise at the hands of a... giant rat? It seems this "king of rats" will not stand for more trespassers!

'It seemed the creature had reconsidered its chances of survival against our might.'
'We let it go. After all, we'd been the ones trespassing upon its home.'
