Walkthrough & Notes

This quest is only available to characters beginning at level 20 on a VIP account. This is a timed quest. You must complete it before the timer expires. You can repeat it immediately if you fail. IMPORTANT: The timer begins immediately when accepting the quest, so before starting, locate the horses (a horse and a pony in the middle of the farmstead facing south). Dwarves and Hobbits click on the pony. Elf or Man click on the horse. Turn south during the mount induction. You can try to take shortcuts during the race, but be careful not to skip any gate! Water will slow you down. Bushes do not. After the last gate, you will be dismounted. You must continue and run to Éogar and finish the quest before the timer expires. You may not have time to read his final message and successfully complete the quest, but read it at the end of this page at your leisure. Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'You believe you are prepared for riding, caring, and training a mount? We shall see, we shall see. 'I have a course that I ride to clear my head and uncloud my thoughts...few have completed it besides myself. Around Hengstacer, I have placed twelve gates. My farmhand was tolerably fast, but if you can ride faster, I will count you a worthy student and teach you the basics. Simply ride through each of the gates on your mount before racing off to the next one. Be careful not to miss any gates! You will have to start over if you run out of time, and be aware that I have a number of jumps and water pits along the trail. 'When you are ready to start, you can use the Blood Bay steeds. I will start the count as soon as you accept this challenge, so be ready.' Right-clicking on the 'Mount' vitals display gives you the option to dismount your steed but will also cancel the quest. The timer will start counting down as soon as you accept this quest. Background Éogar, satisfied with your work for him, is ready to complete your training.
