Walkthrough & Notes

Like many/most creatures of "giant" type, these ones have a knockback. So watch your facing on the upper part of the instance. All of the treasures are behind gates; 3 of them in small alcoves located more-or-less at the northwest, northeast, and southeast of the main chamber, on the lowest level. The fourth treasure is in a sub-chamber to the south of the main one, on the west side; the gate is between the main chamber and the sub-chamber. Within the sub-chamber, the treasure is located at the top of a stairway, in the extreme south of the map. Giants drop keys somewhat randomly, with the message A KEY DROPS FROM THE FALLEN ICE-GIANT. Each key matches a specific gate, with the exception of the last key dropped always matching the gate to the southern sub-chamber. The keys are abstract: they don't appear in one's inventory, and are not enumerated on the quest tracker or elsewhere. Gates are not selectable objects, and don't need to be "use"d: if the matching "key" has dropped, a gate will open automatically when approached. Note: this opening does not break stealth. Since they are not objects, they do not show up using "select nearest/next/previous object", but the treasures, with the exception of the one in the southern sub-chamber, are in selection range, even before the corresponding gate is open. The scout appears in the main chamber, on the lowest level, not next to the "entrance" of the instance, which is on the upper level. After completing your objectives, there is a limited time (2 minutes) before you will be automatically ejected from the instance. You need to find and open the "Mission Reward" chest before this happens. Defeating more enemies does not reset the timer!

'Your mission is to recover the stolen treasures and punish the ice-giants for their actions.'  Twist: Gated Background You have been tasked with defeating ice-giants and recovering stolen treasures. Objective 1 Recover stolen treasures (0/4) You should defeat ice-giants and recover stolen treasures. Objective 2 Regroup near the entrance to the chamber You should regroup near the entrance to the chamber. MISSION COMPLETE! A dwarf scout has arrived to escort you back to the halls of Máttugard.
