Background
Aragorn's skill at healing will be put to the test in the Houses of Healing.
Objective 1
Aragorn is by Faramir's bedside in the Houses of Healing.
- Aragorn: 'Let us see if Faramir's condition has improved, <name>.'
Objective 2
- Remain alert in the event you are needed
Aragorn is by Faramir's bedside in the Houses of Healing.
- Aragorn says, "I crushed some of the kingsfoil leaves and cast them into steaming water."
- Aragorn says, "Let us see if the healing odour refreshes Faramir's body and spirit."
- Ioreth says, "I would not have believed the weed could smell so sweet!"
- Ioreth says, "It puts me in mind of the roses of Imloth Melui, when I was young."
- Ioreth says, "Kingsfoil is well-named, for what king could ask for better?"
- Faramir says, "My lord... you called for me..."
- Faramir says, "What does the king command?"
- Aragorn says, "You know of me?"
- Faramir says, "I do, my king. I want nothing but to climb from this bed and serve you."
- Aragorn says, "You will serve me best by resting awhile, and having some food."
- Aragorn says, "You have walked in the shadows for too long, and are weary."
- Faramir says, "I will rest, if that is your command."
- Faramir says, "But what man could lie idle when the king has come again?"
- Aragorn says, "Farewell for now."
Objective 3
- Follow Aragorn to Éowyn's bedside
Faramir has recovered, and now Aragorn goes to see if Éowyn's condition has improved.
- Ioreth says, "A King, just as I said! Did you hear that? The hands of a healer, I said!"
- Prince Imrahil says, "Your healing-skill is to be commended, Aragorn."
- Aragorn says, "It proved sufficient for Faramir, but Éowyn's suffering is of a different sort."
Objective 4
- Remain alert in the event you are needed
Aragorn is by Éowyn's bedside in the Houses of Healing.
- Aragorn says, "Éowyn's suffering began before ever she faced the Witch-king, Éomer, did it not?"
- Éomer says, "I do not know why you ask this of me, Aragorn."
- Aragorn says, "Her unhappiness was clear to me at the moment of our first meeting."
- Éomer says, "She tended to Théoden in his growing despair and sickness, it is true."
- Éomer says, "That unhappiness was ours to share."
- Mithrandir says, "But not entirely, Éomer, for you had deeds of arms and the riding of the free fields to occupy your mind."
- Mithrandir says, "Éowyn did not, though she was your equal in spirit and courage."
- Éomer says, "Mayhap I should have known, but I did not. I weep that this was to be her lot!"
- Aragorn says, "I may be able to cure the hurts of her body, and draw her back from the darkness."
- Aragorn says, "But if she wakes to that old despair, there is no healing I can give that will cure her of it."
- Aragorn says, "Éowyn, daughter of Éomund, awake! Your enemy is gone and will trouble you no more!"
- Éomer says, "Éowyn, Éowyn!"
- Éowyn says, "Éomer, my brother. You live? They said you were slain..."
- Éowyn says, "No, it must have been the voices in my dream that said that was so."
- Éowyn says, "What of Théoden? Do not tell me that was dream as well, for I know it was not."
- Éomer says, "The Lord of the Mark is dead, but he bade me give his farewell to Éowyn, dearer than a daughter to him."
- Éomer says, "He lies now in the Citadel of Gondor, as befits the great honour with which he passed from this life."
- Éowyn says, "I am glad to see the House of Eorl restored to its glory."
- Éowyn says, "But what of Meriadoc the Halfling?"
- Éowyn says, "You must make him a knight of the Mark, for he is valiant beyond measure!"
- Mithrandir says, "He lies also in this house, and I will go now to him, but Éomer will stay yet awhile."
- Mithrandir says, "Speak no more of war until you are restored to health, and renewed of hope!"
- Éowyn says, "Health I may yet have, if there is an empty saddle for me to fill. But hope? I do not know."
Objective 5
Aragorn has gone to Merry's bedside to see if his work has aided the hobbit's recovery.
Objective 6
- Remain alert in the event you are needed
Aragorn is by Merry's bedside in the Houses of Healing.
- Peregrin Took says, "Is he going to be all right, Strider?"
- Aragorn says, "He will be fine. I came in time, and have called him back."
- Aragorn says, "The wound he suffered will heal, and I know there is strength in his spirit."
- Aragorn says, "Master Meriadoc... your friends are here, and they wish to see you."
- Meriadoc Brandybuck says, "I am hungry. What time is it?"
- Peregrin Took says, "It is past supper-time, Merry. But I am certain they will let me bring you something!"
- Mithrandir says, "I am certain as well, and it is said I know a thing or two."
- Mithrandir says, "Indeed, for this Rider of Rohan I believe nothing will be held back."
- Mithrandir says, "His name will be held in high honour within the city!"
Objective 7
Merry is still in bed, but he seems to be recovering.
- Meriadoc Brandybuck: 'It is good to see you again, <name>! Do you remember when we crept to see Théoden's war-council in the Drúadan Forest? It feels to me as if that was years ago, but it cannot have been. I have been caught in a terrible dream, but already the memory of it is fading.
- 'I think supper will be just the thing, and afterwards perhaps a pipe. No, not a pipe. I don't think I will ever smoke again. Théoden was sorry he would not be able to speak of herb-lore with me, smoking our pipes in comfort and peace. I will never be able to smoke without thinking of him."
Objective 8
Merry is still in bed, but he seems to be recovering.
- Aragorn says, "And why should you not, Merry?"
- Aragorn says, "Light your pipe and think of him, for he kept his oaths and proved a great king."
- Aragorn says, "He would be glad for you to think of him over a pleasant smoke, I think."
- Meriadoc Brandybuck says, "You may be right! Thank you, Strider!"
- Aragorn:' 'Thank you for all your help, <name>. We have done much good here, and there is more to do before I can rest. But I am glad that some of the evils that befell us upon Pelennor have been remedied.'
