A Journey Into Danger
"We must speak only quietly, or we shall be discovered."

Background

Together, you and Rahâzi have snuck aboard a waggon carrying supplies and must remain hidden from the Temámir who drives it.

Objective 1

Rahâzi is hidden inside the waggon.

Rahâzi: 'Look at the cargo this waggon transports, <name>: these are not the ropes and timbers I expected necessary to finish construction of a fleet of ships. Much of these supplies are wealthy goods and valuables.
'For what purpose does the Temámir waggon-driver bring these items to Sûg Nidar?'

Objective 2

  • Stand near the back of the waggon
  • Listen for anyone who might approach

You should stand near the back of the waggon and listen for anyone to approach too near.

Rahâzi says, "Stand by the back of the waggon and listen for anyone to approach."

Objective 3

  • Try not to move or make any noise

Do not move, and make no noise!

You hear the crunching of footsteps beside the waggon
Temámir Voice says, "I hear you."
Temámir Voice says, "I will be back as soon as I can. And with gold!"
Temámir Voice says, "Wedë Fíti!"

Objective 4

Rahâzi is hidden inside the waggon.

Rahâzi: 'Now we wait. You might as well make yourself comfortable.'

Objective 5

  • Pass the time while the waggon rumbles to its destination

It will be some time before the waggon arrives. Now you can only wait.

It is difficult to mark the passage of time as the waggon rumbles onward

Objective 6

Rahâzi is hidden inside the waggon.

Rahâzi: 'Was Shurug-nîn's own adventure like this, <name>? The songs and tales record only her deeds of daring and of courage. Much was made of her contests of strength against the dragons, but little is said of the days and weeks between such battles, though they must have existed.
'Will our own song speak of this waggon-ride? I suppose that depends upon what awaits us at the end of it: triumphant victory or crushing defeat.'

Objective 7

  • Stand near the back of the waggon
  • Listen for anyone who might approach

You should stand near the back of the waggon and listen for anyone to approach too near.

Rahâzi says, "We have stopped! Have we arrived?"

Objective 8

  • Wait for the driver to leave before departing the waggon

If the driver moves away, it should be safe to depart the waggon.

Temámir Voice says, "Fine enough. But the road is a thirsty one."
Rahâzi says, "I think he has gone. Let us see where we have come!"
