Walkthrough & Notes

This quest counts for the Aiding the Wold deed. Completing Aiding the Eastemnet will cancel this quest This is an instanced public questing area. Book Locations - 1. Right at first intersection, then right - 2. Back out from first book, right. - 3. Back to first intersection, straight then left. - 4. Turn around then forward (south) to first intersection and left. Books appear to spawn randomly so may not be at stated locations, if not see next note. Using the Select Next item key mapping option can help here, where it will show the location of a statue when within proximity (Options > Key Mapping > Selection > Select Next Item) which may be above or below the target in the instance. Just keep pressing the key while moving until an interactable item is highlighted. Watch out for the hidden floor traps in front of bookshelves when moving around (small patches of dark marks on the floor). To leave the instance either return to the instance portal or use the 'Leave Instance' function (right click the character portrait).

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Knowing where you came from, what your family did, how your ancestors honoured their name, and who laid their lives down for King and country is as important as knowing what tomorrow brings. It tells us who we are and who we should strive to be. It tells us how to approach tomorrow. 'Our tales are written in volumes kept within an old ruin called Gerngath. The place is now being searched and looted by Easterlings. I ask you to please venture within and bring back the tales of our fathers.' Background The Rohirrim have used Gerngarth as a library to hold works on their heritage, lineage, and history for several generations. Objective 1 Collect Rohirric books in Gerngarth (0/4) Rohirric books can be found within Gerngath. Wulfin has asked you to venture within Gerngath and return with several books documenting the history of the Rohirrim. Wulfin: 'When you are ready to make the journey I can show you where Gerngath lies.' Enter the Public Instance: Gerngarth Objective 2 Talk to Wulfin Wulfin is at Harwick. Wulfin will be pleased to see you recovered several Rohirric books from Gerngath. Wulfin: 'There are many more remaining, but even these few preserve a great deal of our history.'
