Walkthrough & Notes

Go east from the north end of the Trestle Bridge and up the hill past the Orc camp. Follow the path over the two rope bridges and follow it up to where there are defences on the side of the path. The Black Powder is on top of a wooden platform in front of you. [15.0S, 49.9W] There are 2 Renders and 1 Shooter on the platform. They are linked as a group and will all become aggressive when you attack them. Note: The level 24 quest Defending the Bridge appears to have been removed or replaced by A Great Boom in the Night

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'I need your help! The Orcs have some foul magic that they hope to use against us! The other night I was keeping watch on this side of Cirith Núr, and I saw dark figures carrying a pair of crates out of Nan Wathren. 'I loosed a fire-arrow at them, to signal the town-guard. The arrow struck one crate, and those carrying it dropped it and ran. Soon after, there was a sound like thunder and a ball of fire! The others hastily retreated carrying the other crate. 'Can you imagine what would have happened if they had gotten that onto the bridge? We must learn what was in that crate! Would you go to the western edge of the Nan Wathren, search for this crate and find out what's inside?' Background Aggy Digweed spotted figures carrying a crate out of Nan Wathren. To signal the guard at Trestlebridge, she fired a fire arrow towards them and struck the crate, which exploded in a ball of flame. Objective 1 Collect the crate contents Bring the crate contents to Aggy Digweed The crate was destroyed at the western edge of Nan Wathren. Aggy Digweed, afraid that this new weapon may be the doom of Trestlebridge, asked you to look for the shattered remains of the crate. Aggy Digweed: 'We must know what was in that crate! You should search the western edge of Nan Wathren for it and bring some evidence back here.' Collected the crate contents Aggy Digweed: 'Is this what you found in their camp? Here, let me examine it.... 'Awful stuff! I've no doubt this stuff is dark magic. And knowing the Orcs, this crate wasn't the only source of this "Black-fire!"'
