Walkthrough & Notes

Southern room -- Twelve caeryg, two at a time To open the room, have at least one person stand at the southern gate after defeating Spit-tail while another goes up two levels and pulls the lever that temporarily opens the way across. This is the same lever that opened the gate where the fellowship had to split up. Return below and have one fellow pull the lever to open the bridge and rejoin the fellowship. Proceed into the room where you will be faced with an endurance fight against twelve Lesser Caeryg, two at a time. When one goes down, another will take its place until they are all defeated. Western room -- Three at once To open the room, have one fellow return two levels above and pull the lever that toggles the drawbridge nearby while the rest of the fellowship enter the gate below. Once inside, the fellow above pulls the lever again to open the gate to the crossroads and makes his way down to rejoin the fellowship using the lever inside to reopen the gate to the western room. In this room, the fellowship will fight against three Lesser Caeryg at the same time. Once a fellowship engages the caeryg in either the southern or western room, the other room will become unavailable for the duration of that instance. Completing the challenge and defeating Caerlûg earns you an extra chest with 2 Medallions of Lothlórien for each fellowship member as well as additional relics and IXP runes.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue Deep in the Water-works, there are great Caeryg lurking. You should find them in the hidden rooms of the Water-works and banish them from Moria. Background In the Water-works, ancient Caeryg rumble through the halls. Their presence is causing the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm great concern. They often fight in packs and are quite dangerous to those who attempt to disturb them. Objective 1 Defeat the Caeryg in the southern room or Defeat the Caeryg in the western room Deep in the Water-works, there are great Caeryg lurking. You should find them in the hidden rooms of the Water-works and banish them from Moria. Objective 2 Defeat Caerlûg In the farthest depths of the Water-works, there is the greatest of Caeryg, Caerlug. Defeat him to claim your reward.
