Walkthrough & Notes

The rune is on a tree, at the top of a hill,[65.6S, 18.0W] overlooking some building ruins that are under a waterfall - NOT the small ruins in the pond. To get it, you will have to fight a signature Deserter Captain and a (stealthed) Deserter Scout. After they are killed, they will respawn almost immediately. If you kill one of them and pull the other one away from the rune area, the other mob will join the fight, even out of aggro radius, when it respawns. If doing this quest on-level, it is recommended to bring at least two people to this fight. Have one person draw off the two mobs, while the other clicks on the rune before joining the fight. Then, allow the first person to draw away from the fight, click the rune, and rejoin the fight. If you can't kill both mobs fast enough and they keep rejoining the fight, simply running away to the east-northeast (into the river and towards the bridge) will solve the problem; eventually they'll stop following and reset. The cache is buried at [66.3S, 18.0W]. A Ravaging Warg patrols the area right next to the cache, but walks far enough away that the cache can be retrieved before he returns.

Bestowal dialogue 'In these days, previously tranquil lands are now fraught with danger and enemies at every turn. Already, we have expended most of the arrows we brought with us. 'I need you to find a hunter's cache that was put aside some years ago, should we find ourselves in need. Within it, you will find a considerable supply of arrows and spare bow-strings, both of which we are now in sore need of. 'The cache is a short distance north-west of Lhanuch, within sight of a small set of curious ruins. A rune can be found on an overlook above the ruins. Once you have found it, make your way sixty paces south and search near the base of a small cliff there.' Background Culang has assigned you the task of finding a number of hidden supply caches scattered throughout Nan Laeglin. If you can uncover these caches, the Grey Company will be able to pass through the land swiftly without having to risk bartering with potentially hostile locals.
