Walkthrough & Notes

One way to make sure you get this quest is to: Grab A Peace-shattering Silence from Saeradan. Scout the Mustering Tree. Scout the Tree of Tribute and receive the Pick-axe. Don't use the Pick-axe to start the quest. If you do accidentally use the Pick-axe, destroy the pick-axe by dragging it out of your inventory and onto the landscape. Doing so will cancel Seeking a Solution and allow you to pick this quest up from Saeradan. Go back to Saeradan and grab A Shameful Loss (this quest). To complete it, use the Pick-axe and complete Seeking a Solution. Then this quest will automatically complete at the same time. Completing Seeking a Solution without following the steps above will prevent you from picking up and completing this quest. However, players who completed Seeking a Solution prior to the 12 December 2011 release of Update 5 can pick up this quest from Saeradan. It will automatically complete and give its rewards.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue <name>! I am disappointed. If we are to unravel the mystery of this wood, we must find more tokens...yet you managed to lose the pick-axe I gave you? Very well, let me see if one of these Rohirrim brought a pick with him into these wilds.' Background When Saeradan asked you to search near the Mustering Tree and the Tree of Tribute for signs of other evil tokens, he gave you a pick-axe with which to dig them up...which you promptly lost. Objective 1 Talk to Saeradan to receive the pick-axe Saeradan is at the Rohirrim scout-camp in the Gravenwood of Dunland. Saeradan has spoken with the Rohirrim and is waiting upon you. Saeradan: 'We are fortunate. These good people did indeed have a pick-axe among their goods. Go now and complete your task!' Objective 2 Use the pick-axe in your inventory to accept the quest Seeking a Solution, then complete it The Tree of Tribute lies to the west of the Rohirrim Scout-camp. You should return to the Tree of Tribute and complete the task Saeradan set before you.
