Master of Buckland

The Master of Buckland was a title given to the head of the Brandybuck family of Buckland in The Shire. The first holder of the title was Gorhendad Oldbuck in T.A. 2340; and at the end of the Third Age the title was held by Saradoc Brandybuck the father of Meriadoc. Merry, as he was better known, was one of the members of the Fellowship of the Ring and became Master of Buckland on his father's death in the year 11 of the Fourth Age.
