Effects

Using this skill causes  Ballad Healing Bonus to occur on yourself. Up to three Ballad buffs can be active on a Minstrel.

• Specializing in the Watcher of Resolve trait tree makes this skill apply the Watcher of Resolve effect to the Minstrel upon a critical hit.
• The trait  Inspiring Finish in the Watcher of Resolve trait tree makes this skill have a chance to grant a stack of Inspiring Finish to the Minstrel. At max rank, the proc chance is guaranteed.
• The set bonus  Resonant Ballads in the Watcher of Resolve trait tree makes the effect Ballad Damage Bonus increase Outgoing Healing Rating by an additional 3%, and it makes this skill decrease the cooldown of Cry of the Chorus by 2s.
• The trait  Songs of Woe in the Protector of Song trait tree increases the critical chance of this skill by up to 5%.
• The trait  Sharing a Story in the Protector of Song trait tree makes this skill reset the cooldown of  Piercing Cry upon a critical hit.
• The trait  Perfect Performance in the Protector of Song trait tree makes this skill apply the Perfect Performance - Major Ballad effect to the Minstrel. This effect tiers up to 3 times. Further ranks increase the potency by up to 1% (per tier) and the duration by up to 10s.
• The trait  Strike a Chord in the Protector of Song trait tree makes this skill apply Strike a Chord - Major Ballad to the target when in Melody Stance.

• Equipping 2 pieces of the Umbari Armour of the Doom-caller armour set acquired from the Depths of Mâkhda Khorbo Raid increases the Critical Chance of this skill by 4%.

Tactical Information

Although Major Ballad is grants Ballad buffs, it is not commonly used. This is due to both Minor Ballad - Dissonance and Perfect Ballad dealing more damage than Major Ballad. This is partially because Minor and Perfect Ballads have traceries that increase their damage by up to 55%, while Major Ballad does not.
