IRC Meeting 08.03.08
The following is a summary of the LOTRO-Wiki IRC Meeting on 08/03/08 (DD/MM/YY). Among the attendants are (in no particular order): xanderian (Xander), DancesInTrees, Eleazaros, Deyvid, Rogue (Rogue4ever), Tomaj (Btomaj) and myself. A log of the channel was maintained for future reference to any who require it. If you would like to review it, please contact either Fedaykinx (who maintained the "official" log) or one of the other administrators. The entire log may be posted here eventually.
On the list were the following topics, with conclusions, which were generally discussed in order from top to bottom:
Categorization revision
- The changes to the root were discussed and have now been implemented. Major changes to the actual category trees were also discussed, and will be looked over in greater detail on the forums.
Template-enforced Categorization
- It was decided that Templates should be responsible for all categorization if possible. Exceptions can be made where necessary.
Infobox/Tooltip as sole content of an article?
- The infobox/tooltip information should not be the only information found in the article. There should be additional information in all such articles. If there isn't, then that article should either be stubbed or an exception can be discussed on the forums.
Project & Forum organization (and implementation)
- We should have a forum implemented for each project as soon as Skunark can get around to it.
Image Name format
- Quality seems to serve no purpose in the file name of an icon. All icons filenames should correspond exactly to the name seen in-game, which includes proper capitalization. Whitespace should be replaced with an underscore.
PC & Kinship page guidelines/policies
- Although no exact policies have been set, Kinship and PC pages should not be in the main namespace so that they do not interfere with actual content found on the Wiki. Image restrictions may be set for the pages, including limits to image size and amount. The purpose of Kinship articles on the Wiki is not to host your kinship website, but rather to provide some general information on a kinship.
The meeting took place within a three-hour time-frame, after which a more open discussion took place.
