Lore
The Grey King is a somewhat elusive figure, known to haunt the hills and canyons of the Gloomglens. His towering stature and distinctive grey fur would seem to suggest descent from Snowbeasts, while his pronounced ram horns and blazing red eyes hint at a more demonic heritage. He is feared by the Stoors of the area for his hurling of great boulders at unwary travelers.
Location
The Grey King can be found within the Gloomglens in Enedwaith [64.7S, 23.3W]. He is found in a cave where you are only allowed access if you have the corresponding quest.
Background
The Grey King does not appear in the work of J.R.R. Tolkien, but was added to The Lord of the Rings Online as part of the Welsh influence of the Dunland region. It is likely based on the legends of Brenin Llwyd, a legendary figure purported to haunt the mountains of Snowdonia in north Wales. Accounts of his appearance vary, though some equate him to the likes of the Himalayan Yeti, North American Sasquatch, or Scottish Fear Liath.
