First War

The First War was a divine conflict between the Valar and Melkor over the world of Arda at the beginning of time. As a result of this war, Arda was marred with fires and destruction.

In the aftermath of the war, Aulë created the Two Lamps to illuminate all Arda, and vegetation bloomed for the first time. This was called the Spring of Arda.
