Fell Winter

During the Third Age, between the November of 2911 and March of 2912, lasted a particularly harsh and unforgiving winter. This was not the first winter of its kind, nor was it the harshest, but the effects were felt nonetheless.
Aid was provided to the hobbits of the Shire as their crops were particularly threatened. The freezing of the Brandywine River allowed wolves not normally seen in the realm easy passage.
The most catastrophic effects would not be felt until the melting of all the snow and ice built up over the months leading to severe flooding. The great city of Anor, Tharbad, was notably affected, left in ruins and its grand bridge destroyed.
