Belecthor II Orndil (Sindarin for Great-eagle Tree-friend) was the 21st ruling Steward of Gondor, governing the realm from T.A. 2811 until his death in 2872.
Belecthor was 120 years at the time of his death, and was the last of his line to pass 100 years of age as the blood of Númenor was faded in his line to the point of becoming equal to other men. When he died, the third White Tree of Gondor perished as well, but the dead tree was left standing in the yard until the return of the king.
After his death, Beregond was succeeded by his son Thorondir. The Baths of Belecthor are named after him, and also bears his likeness as a prominent statue, placed among five statues of the realms' former kings.
