I think it's time to rename Accomplishments to Deeds...

I haven't noticed any usage of Accomplishments since closed beta. --Hinney 22:07, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

What needs to be done to make this change happen? Banaticus 19:46, 26 April 2007 (PDT)
well european version still uses accomplishment, sure we also have deed log, but when you first discover something or use a skill it says something like: "you have discovered a new accomplishment"... --Xander 02:35, 1 May 2007 (PDT)
I do like the enthusiasm with which some contributors just made a switchover, but since a wiki is collaborative project, I would appreciate discussing such radical changes, especially if they involve, practically erasing editing history and destroying some watchlists... even more so, since accomplishment is still being used in game, at least in european version! --Xander 16:06, 6 May 2007 (PDT)
Editing history could be restored, by reverting the original page in each case, deleting the new, then moving the old to the new (leaving the redirect for the time being) - needs to be done by someone with the power to delete though ;) - or maybe I'm just stating the obvious! I don't recall exactly what the EU phrasing is, even though I must have seen it several times last night (ran round Ered Luin collecting all the "explore" deeds) - I'll try & check exactly what it does say asap. DancesInTrees 08:13, 8 May 2007 (PDT)
What is the delay between a US patch and a EU patch? There never will be a smooth way to transition major name changes like that but nothing was changed for at least a month. It seems that most of the accomplishment pages redirect to deeds pages (or at least all that i checked). Maybe it's best to just add a AKA note to all the deeds page. We could even use the deeds infobox to do that. --Hinney 09:11, 8 May 2007 (PDT)
Varies slightly (we have had 2 together), but 2-4 weeks DancesInTrees 10:03, 8 May 2007 (PDT)
OK, EU (English) - on starting a new deed you get "New Deed: Whatever" across the middle of the screen. However, hovering over the icon on the right gives "Discovered accomplishment: Whatever" - enough to need an acknowledgment somewhere, but not enough to worry about DancesInTrees 07:11, 10 May 2007 (PDT)

What about a french version ?

I would like to start a french version of lotro-wiki, would it be possible to have a ? We could translate from english version and even have french contributors. This site could become the only one true portal for all about lotro ^^ Can an admin contact me or tell me what is possible to do ? Lpn- 00:16, 19 April 2007 (PDT)

I will set up multiple wikis using interwiki links in the near future. i.e and with interwiki links (yuripup was asking about this too but for another reason). --Lotroadmin 23:57, 19 April 2007 (PDT) if you are still interested. Sorry about taking so long, i was hoping the new version of mediawiki would release so i can just upgrade them both. I still have some work to do on the interwiki links.. most importantly the images. Please log in and have fun with it. if you need anything just leave me a message on my talk page. Please visit and help fill in the Help:Interwiki page. --Lotroadmin 22:53, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
(fixed your typos) Pretty cool! --Hinney 23:03, 7 May 2007 (PDT)

Layout 3.0

Check out the Proposed Main Page and give us some feedback. Everyone give thanks to Nish for getting this new layout started. --Hinney 22:37, 26 April 2007 (PDT)

it's live already =) ... great job...
how about replacing the top part of the main page with the inclusion of I've added pretty much the same text there and reworded it a bit getting rid in the process of at least one external link... --Xander 02:39, 1 May 2007 (PDT)
I made the changes you suggested --Hinney 22:07, 9 May 2007 (PDT)

Extended image syntax not working

Extended image syntax[[1]] isn't working. I can't set a frame around an image so that I can put a caption with it and also set a picture's presentation size. I.e. "Image:thing.jpg|frame|none|Caption here" works, but I can't put 300px or something like that in there. I have so far been unable to give an image both a default display size and a caption. Banaticus 12:02, 27 April 2007 (PDT)

note how the frame uses the original size of the picture and ignores the size field. --Hinney 15:33, 28 April 2007 (PDT)
Yes, in wiki code, the frame shouldn't ignore the size field, but it does. Banaticus 13:21, 3 May 2007 (PDT)
Look here Wikipedia:Extended_image_syntax for details. Using frame will always use the original image size (assuming it's not larger than the maximum) --Hinney 01:21, 4 May 2007 (PDT)

IT'S ALIVE MahaahAAAAA *pinky finger moves to mouth*

Ok it's live.. checkout Help:Main Page News on ways to add articles. We should toss up some guidelines on what should be there beside the one i added.. I think it would be okay if guilds want to use it to recruit, or someone wants to brag about some leet gear they got, but we need to come up with a method of doing that (one random page from a given category). Keep in mind that the editors (i hope you know who you are) need to learn how to used the "patrolled". --Hinney 18:19, 28 April 2007 (PDT)

Nice work guys --Lotroadmin 19:24, 28 April 2007 (PDT)
"Know who we are" - well only by accident! (Maybe you should message us when you change our status, Lotroadmin?) I shall go see what I can find out on "patrolled", though pointers to an appropriate page would be welcome :) DancesInTrees 01:32, 29 April 2007 (PDT)
Look here for patrolling stuff. Key thing to remember look for the ! and click on the diff or last link on the recent changes page. --Hinney 01:51, 29 April 2007 (PDT)

If you notice any gold advertising websites please list them here. Please do not click on them! --Lotroadmin 19:07, 28 April 2007 (PDT)

I did create a similar site for EQ, maybe the list here helps - btw, good job on setting up the wiki here! /wave --Kajolus 12:46, 4 May 2007 (PDT)
both as well as just appeared here...--Kajolus 12:56, 4 May 2007 (PDT)
three more atm,,, 01:56, 9 May 2007 (PDT)

issue with the news... The news wiki extension appears to be buggy..

FYI: We might just want to manually populate the news --Hinney 20:28, 6 May 2007 (PDT)

For some reason i feel sad. --Hinney 17:34, 10 May 2007 (PDT)
