The Spring of Arda was a period where the light of the Two Lamps created great bounty and teeming life. Plants and animals flourished, the land was covered in green and the Valar lived in peace on the island of Almaren, in the middle of the two lamps where the light was brightest.
The Spring of Arda ended with the Marring of Arda, when Melkor destroyed the Two Lamps and broke the land. Fires raged, continents crumbled, and Almaren home of the Valar sank beneath the waves.
