Bestowal Dialogue

The Great Alliance of Elves and Men stood in defiance of Sauron for long years of siege, but even their bravest heroes came to fear his deadliest servants. These were the Nazgûl, and their number was Nine. They stalked the battlefield of Mordor Besieged, and were its most dangerous scourges.

He moved at speed across the battlefield, running down the warriors who dared stand against him, fewer as the siege went on. He was the Cursed Rider, and the sound of his approach turned even courageous blood to water. In later years he would command armies from within the walls of Dol Guldur, but during the Second Age he preferred to fight from the back of his black steed, alone.

Background

The Great Alliance of Elves and Men stood in defiance of Sauron for long years of siege, but even their greatest heroes came to fear his deadliest servants. These were the Nazgûl, and their number was Nine.

Objective 1

He moved at speed across the battlefield, running down the warriors who dared stand against him, fewer as the siege went on. He was the Cursed Rider, and the sound of his approach turned even courageous blood to water. In later years he would command armies from within the walls of Dol Guldur, but during the Second Age he preferred to fight from the back of his black steed, alone.

The Cursed Rider says, "I shall handle you myself then foolish mortals. Come now, face the terror of the shadows!"
The Cursed Rider says, "Flee in terror puny mortals!"
The Cursed Rider says, "The time of Elves and Men is at an end...face the truth and embrace despair!"
The Cursed Rider says, "I sense a seed of doubt in your heart."
The Cursed Rider says, "I may be bested, but I am not beaten! Fear the shadows mortals, for it is there that I will be waiting to exact my revenge!"
The Cursed Rider has been defeated... for now

Objective 2

  • The Cursed Rider, defeated but enduring

He moved at speed across the battlefield, running down the warriors who dared stand against him, fewer as the siege went on. He was the Cursed Rider, and the sound of his approach turned even courageous blood to water. In later years he would command armies from within the walls of Dol Guldur, but during the Second Age he preferred to fight from the back of his black steed, alone.

The Cursed Rider suffered defeat on the battlefield of Mordor Besieged, but it was not to be a lasting death... not while Sauron endured. The Nazgûl would return, for his was an existence beyond ending.
